Your card is fine. It's probably not formatted to FAT16 though. By any chance is your SD card rather small? Esspecially 8MB. Those ussually get formatted to FAT12. There is a thread somewhere that tells you how to format the card to FAT12.
format using the command prompt (Start>run>cmd)
(512mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:8192
(256mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:4096
(128mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:2048
(64mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:1024
(32mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:512
(16mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:512
Replace X with the drive letter of your SD reader

hi,
i never got problem with my nintendo sd adapter and 128mb sdcard.
today while i was copying files from pc to sd sdload started but it cannot find any file in the sd.
then i formatted the card (even with linux and win(with and without gui).
The result is that now sdload won't even start.
i got black screen with an "orange", not green line at the bottom of the screen.
the sd works,i can play mp3 from pc.
i searched for badblock both on win/lin and got no bad ones.
Can I assume my sd adapter is fucked then?
If so, can someone sell me one?

drewmerc: you never said if youīre using Nintendoīs SD Adap, homemade, or what.
Iīm using SDLoader, I had the problem with the reset just once, and all I could see about it, was my homemade sd adapter was shorting :P Itīs essensial not to short +5V pin with CS pin, cause the cube gets all crazy (at least mine), dunno if it could get worse. Also I had an overheat (In a matter of 5 to 10 seconds) on my SD (with a hole making in the whole casing) because I had a wrong pinout
The black screen after AR "insert SDLOAD DISC" gets to me whenever the SD adapter is not totally fit in the slot (I didnīt use a memory card, I use a homemade pcb with only the needed pins printed).
Also another chance for a black screen is if you have (like me) the bugged version of AR wich sometimes DOESNīT save on the memcard (SLOT B) wich code is to be used, though it shows in screen. To work around this one, I didnīt start game right away. I choosed the game and code and started from there.
You could check some of this things.
Also, you could specify some more about your console, SD, adapter, etc.

Donīt worry, I donīt even have friends at all
Try making your own adapter, mine was made with a cheap pcb and Ferric acid, but you can always destroy a spare memcard, as some guys did, if you donīt know/are confident in the acid method.
I donīt have right now the links and pics for making it...
But if you search for "Homemade SD Adapter", you should find them.
