View Full Version : Photographic proof that the Xbox 360 insider is the real deal
The website that posted all the revelations from a supposed Xbox 360 insider has posted what they believe to be the ultimate proof that he was a valid insider - photos of the Xbox Ship It awards. These awards are reportedly handed out to key players in the Xbox project and are as 'authentic as a wax seal pressed with a loyal ring'.

These are photos of my source's Xbox "Ship It" awards. These are custom trophies that Microsoft will distribute to key players in their project. These aren't some mass produced tourist trinkets but are as authentic as a wax seal pressed with a royal ring. This major monolith award means that my source was a major player in the world of Xbox.
Update: I did a search on Flickr. looking for other Microsoft ship it award. It ends up there are several designs of the award over the years. However I did run into plenty of photos of photos of people mailing their broken Xbox 360s back to Microsoft to get fixed.

And I'm the king of England, here's my crown:

So they've posted a picture of an award - how's that proof exactly?

So then if he/she is a real ex employee (and you don't have to be an important one to get a ship-it award, just part of a team, some have been given to students as well from the look of it) and this wasn't from one of the multiple variations of ship-it awards pics on the net (or pics of an award someone else they know has), then it proves my theory that MS employees are kept in the dark. Everything he/she has said is old news, and if what they had to say had any real content then more than just some average gaming site would be reporting this. I watch the BBC, Sky and CNN news most days and have not seen anything mentioned.
No, if this person is indeed authentic, then fair enough, but welcome to january 2007 if you think that "insider" info was anything vaguely new:rolleyes:

The result of desperate people trying to find something fake to point out:
If the proof is real, people will still scream fake.
This old saying comes into mind:
"You wouldn't know God if he was standing right in front of you"
By the way "unknown" types and makes his point clearly without being fanboyish clearly indicates he has retail experience and has knowledge of the business model that the MS gaming division has used. Instead of speculation, he told it anonymously in order to keep his name from being screwed. He probably would never get to work in the industry again for telling the faults of a company.
It still amazes me that the XBOX brand has only been around for about 7 years, doesn't seem longer? They only been around since 2000-2001.

Take a close look at the picture. Whoever the insider is he hasn't worked on anything for the Xbox360. The dates on the picture are:
Xbox launch date: 2001
Xbox Live - November 25th 2003
Xbox XBlade - December 5th 2002
So he hasn't worked on anything after 2003.

So maybe they should have given him a ship-it award when he quit and shipped his arse off somewhere else?
Here, let's modify your statement to take out assumptions
So he hasn't worked on anything worth getting an award for after 2003.

Are people still talking about this. Or did this not get the publicity that this guy wanted. Like someone else said on the forum. Ummmm this would have been news about 1 year and a half ago. It's old news now.....move along....
