According to the Consumerist, an owner of a faulty 360 emailed both Bill Gates and Kathleen Hogan(Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Customer Service) and had great results. The owner was contacted within twenty-four hours from the escalation department and a new console is apparently on its way.

I was one of the first to get an Xbox 360 when they came out, paying way more than I should have. I had problems with the console right out of the box and after weeks of haggling with their normal customer service department, I was contacted by their escalation department. Within a week, my problems were solved and they sent me a bunch of free stuff (games & controllers). Fast forward two years, and I'm having the same problem. I emailed both Bill Gates and Kathleen Hogan(Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Customer Service, Support and Customer and Partner Experience) yesterday...

I was contacted within twenty-four hours from the escalation department and a new console is on its way.

In doing a little bit of research, I figured out the email addresses for both and am providing them for your loyal readers. The link I am including will also provide the entire corporate teams names and titles.

Anyone who knows anything about corporate structure knows these aren't their actual email addresses. These are email addresses read *for* them, most likely by an administrative assistance, or maybe even a team of them.

I wouldn't think Bill Gates would check emails from rando commandos over the interwebz.

At the end of the year I finally had a problem with my launch Xbox. The drive was starting to go out. I had called a few months earlier when I started having problems reading games. I was told it would be $99. I figured I would hold out for a while and when things got worse I finally decided to bite the bullet and pay for the repair.
Somehow I ended up talking with someone from corporate who sent out a return box with paid shipping. I called to check on it a week later and the regular repair grunts were miffed that the repair was free and MS picked up the shipping. They gave me the status on the console and I had it back in a couple of days. The same console with the repaired drive.
A month later the console is still working fine.

lol. Seriously, who would have thought sending a E-Mail to Bill Gates would actually help at all?

I wonder if Kutaragi would have read your E-Mail and forward it to result in a new PS3.
