View Full Version : Former head of EA Chicago studio moves to Microsoft
Reports suggest that Kudo Tsunoda, former head of the recently closed EA Chicago studio, has found employment at Microsoft. He joins his former EA Vancouver colleague Don Mattrick, who was hired last year and who now runs the Xbox business under Entertainment and Devices division boss Robbie Bach. It is rumored he will be working on Gears of War series. His experience at EA has been mainly at developing hand-to-hand combat games like Fight Night: Round 3 and Def Jam Icon.

EA Chicago was responsible for those crappy Jef Jam (sp?) games. Hopefully MS puts him to work in the programming department. I want this guy as far away from QC as possible.;)

Actually they only made one of the Def Jam games Def Jam: Icon, their biggest claim to fame was Fight Night Round 3 which is arguably the best boxing game ever and were working on Marvel Showdown before it was abruptly dropped along with EA Chicago. Before that he was at 3DO and stuck working with their crappy franchises but he did manage to be lead on Might and Magic VII which many concider to be the last good Might and Magic game.

Marvel Showdown would have been another terrible EA developed marvel game (Marvel Nemesis anyone?). Boxing games are nothing to write home about. Might and Magic ditto.
When is Silicon Knights next game coming out? A developer with real talent deserves hype. :)

Also Def Jam Vendetta 1 and 2 where great games. Icon was garbage IMO since they decided to go in a completely different direction than what the first 2 games built.
