View Full Version : How do you rip a umd movie off the umd???

i cant rip my saw or shawshank redemption umd movie off the umd disc with fastloader 0.7 it just rips the update folder can any1 link me to a program or anything that will do it cheers

This is what I get when I ripped one of my UMD Movies that had a forced 1.52 update on it., got the PSP_UPDATE & UMD_VIDEO files at a filesize of around 46mb. No actual video files at all. Weird... Seems to be a glitch with FreeLoader ripping UMD Movies, rips games fine!

just use umd ripper v0.2 works fine !!

UMD dumper seems to work for those UMD video discs that need firmware version 1.52 in that it creates an ISO of the correct size but opening that ISO on the PC and there is only about 13Mb of files. WinISO reports it is multi track/session and may not be accessible.
Anyone know if these new UMD video discs have a new structure/format? Also how can I get a different region UMD disc to be recognized (read) by the PSP so that UMD dumper can access it? I have a Jap (RC2) PSP and when I tried to play a RC3 disc it reports that this disc cannot be read. When I tried UMD dumper it just stays at the waiting for UMD drive and nothing gets read.

The UMD movie discs with firmware updater 1.52 on the disc seem to be protected in that the contents of the UMD_video folder cannot be accessed/dumped by a PSP that has a firmware less than 1.52 even using WAB changer. The disc cannot be played or dumped despite same region and firmware version using WAB changer.
Fastloader will only dump 46Mb, UMD dumper 0.2 will do the full disc but the iso will only have ~14Mb of files from the updater folder and parts of the UMD_video folder. The disc cannot play withe error, this disc cannot be read.
Can soneone else pls confirm this, thanks.
