Im thinkin of buying a Ps2, but what should i get for it..a chip or Hd loader?
witch of them is the best?
what do yuo all think..
You will need a chip, a DMS4 PRO with the third party flash Toxic OS is the best thing to do :).

just to expand on zeus post, the chip he's mentioned is great becasue u can have the actual HD loader saved onto the chip, and it is available in the ToxicOS , no boot disks or any of that messing about.

if you can find a "fat" ps2, then definitely buy a network adapter and do the exploit. you don't need a chip and you can play all your backups from a hard drive, saving your laser and experiencing fast load times ;)

Does HD loader works on the Slim PS2 versions?

yes it works - it has to be properly patched for pstwo. and you obviously need hd-connect to connect your hd to pstwo, since it doesn't have a connector ready.

Let it be noted that some games just won't boot from the HD no matter how hard you try though so......

yes, that's true - you can check here (http://list.ps2hd.com/) if a specific game works with hdloader/toxicos and if you have to set specific modes.

if you dont like the controler bye a PS2 converter and wolla you play xbox whith PS2 controler.
Xbox controler is way better than PS2 it will take a week ore 2 to get youse to it but then you want an converter for the PS2 :D
But the games there is no converter, so i gess you have to go for the laser problem consol

lol, this is great. It shouldn't be asked. A chip is the way to go, hands down. It unlocks your console and you can freely install a HDD at your leisure by getting a network adapter and a HDD. Just get a chip with Dev mode, so you don't have to mess around with any discs to load it up. The DMS4 lite is getting cheap, and would be all you need to get your console working.
Remember, on a HDD you can't play DNAS-enabled games online, where with a chip you can. Also you can boot backups and homebrew media, and it supports every title to date, something the HDloader don't do. (like 70-80% compatible with all games at the moment)
An xbox is great, but personally I like the PS2 lineup better, 1900 games and still counting? you can't go wrong there. I think the xbox titles will die off pretty quick with the 360 only a week away. I own both, and use both of my xboxes as a media center only.
The PS2 don't have laser issues BTW, only with the V9 fatboys (romeo mod fixes that up) and V12 consoles which were wiped off the market fairly quick. If you play all your games off the HDD you barely use it, plus you get free online play from in-game.. no expensive XBL subscriptions. Clearly they want the RPGs the PS2 hold. Not the xbox which is all action/shooter up and maybe 5 RPGs.
