Hi, I just installed phoenix bios signed 1.3 with bigfont (a package that came with it).
K: 4034
d: 4034
x: 1.3
Now, here is my prob:
1) When listening to dvd, pressing buttons on my dvd remote restart my xbox...
2) Xbox not always booting up....
Someone having any idea? Thanks
Question:
What if I unplug my xbox and get the prob I heard about (the one about the time/date that need to be set again and that you get into an endless loop). What must I do if I'm to get to that prob?

Ok firstly congrats on getting Phoenix Up and running.
When listening to dvd, pressing buttons on my dvd remote restart my xbox...
What Player are you using as the default DVD payer (in EvoX) AND di you launch the DVD from EvoX or have it launch before Evox was loaded? You should launch from within EvoX with the DVD player set to a modified xboxdash.xbe (if you dont know what I am talking about say so and Ill go itno more detail)
Xbox not always booting up....
Do you have LIVE features installed on your Xbox? I am guessing (seeing as you are having this problem) you dont. Therefore to fix this you will need to uninstall the Phoenix Loader (remve the files you copied to the C drive and also rename the fonts back to what they were originally) then update to LIVE (you will need an original copy of a LIVE compatible game). As an extra note you do not need to remove the 007: AUF/Mech Assult save hack (if you used this explout to install Phoenix).

This problem usually only happens if the xbox is disconnected from power for a long period of time (usually at least 30 miniutes)
What must I do if I'm to get to that prob?
Unfortunatly there is nothing that you can do besides waiting it out. This could take 1min, 2min, 5min, 15min, 1hour, seeral hours.

Well, I use the default dvd player (the one that came with the xbox). I modified only 3 things in the xbox, the xbox.xtf and xboxbook.xtf to .xft and modified a copy of xboxdefault.xbe (I think its that) so that it point to those xft and placed it in e: like it was said to do.
By the way, is it normal that if I tried to go back to the old dashboard (via evox using the menu), it goes into evox again?
Another thing I would like to know. I have been said that the hd is a 20gig but when I look at the C and E drive, I calculate 5 gigs in total... Where is the rest? If I try to write into the F, it say access denied (and evox say that there is juste no space).
One last thing, where are stored the savegame in the hd? And where are the cd I registered via the default dashboard (because I registered like 20 cdrom into my hd via xbox default dashboard)?
Thanks alot.

No this would mean that the xboxdash.xbe file was not editied correctly or fully. Ensure that the evox.ini was edited correctly. If this is fine then try searching form more XTF alternatives.

There are 2 different sizes of retail HDDs for the Xbox. They are either 10 or 8 gig. If it is a 10 gig drive then the F drive will be an unformatted 2 gig partition. If not then its just an eampty partition. The other partitions on the drive are for things like Game Cache. The C drive is the System drive and the E drive is th Game Save drive (which is the best place to put your own files like apps, emulators etc)

In e:\UDATA

Im not sure what you mean.

i cant get the ms dash to boot. i edited the XTF files and named them xft, i also di dthe same to the xtf files with the block things between each letter. i also edited the evox.ini file to look for the xboxdash.xbe in e:\xboxdash.xbe is this right or should it be e:xboxdash.xbe?

e:\xboxdash.xbe is correct so that is fine. Try searchin for xtf strings with Case Senstive turned OFF.

Ah, thank you, I completly forgot about the case sensitive and was missing 1 xtf....
Now, here is 2 thing that bother me:
1) I have this in my evox.ini
DVDPlayer = "f:\apps\dvdx2\default.xbe"
Now, I wounder why it point there since I don't have anything in my f:\ (didn't format). Now, what I would like is to run the default dvd player that came with my xbox (you know the one from m$). Unless someone know a better one.
2) The led is blinking red and green
I tried to hex edit the bert and ernie xtf files but I never found anything about the led color. Someone said to me 2 that there is a place in the evox.ini stating "led color=red" but never found anything about the led color. Anyone have a clue?
Thanks

The reason it points there would likely be that it was just either setup as an example or that the composer was using that position for his player.

To run the default DVD player (assuming that you are able to use the MSDash) edit the evox dash setting to DVDPlayer = "e:\xboxdash.xbe" (assuming that is where your hacked dash is).
Unless someone know a better one.
DVDX2 is an alternative but dosnt use the remote. It is very good if you do not have a DVD playback kit as it will let you use your Xbox Controller.
The led is blinking red and green
In Phoenix Loader 1.3 there is an option to change this in the boot.cfg file. However this does not work for all people. (green would be GGGG).
