So my system is running Vista x64 Ultimate and Rawdump 2.0. I have been going through my games making backups, but DDR for GC freezes at nearly 75% and then returns an error. I deleted the partial iso and tried again, as that usually had worked but didn't this time. Rawdump errored again at the same position. In reading some forums on afterdawn, I found this:

Try using rawdump v0.4 or setting your IDE channel to PIO only.

Control Panel->System->Hardware Tab->Device Man->IDE Controlers
->which ever IDE channel you're on->right click-> properties
->advance settings tab->transfer mode (for device)

I tried to find this setting with no luck in Vista, so I then proceeded to run the software. I ran version 0.4 from a 1gb jumpdrive I had saved it to, realized that the file size was going to be too large to fit and so I canceled it. I then copied version 0.4 to my HDD and attempted to run it. This time it didn't recognize the LG-8164BK drive, only my Sony 16x. And just after that I tried to run version 2.0 again, but I get a "you might have a faulty drive" error. Other forums on maxconsole recommend uninstalling/reinstalling .NET framework 2.0, but I don't think I can in Vista.

I am almost out of ideas, except for maybe just reinstalling Vista. The only thing I have done since I had a successful backup was I had recently replaced my processor from an E6300 to a Q6700. I didn't think it would affect my software though. I also tried FriiWii (a CLI similar to Rawdump), but it gets a drive not detected error (or something like that). Please help!!

Does the disk have any scratchs or is it dirty, Rawdump is really picky.

It has some light surface marks, nothing I would consider to be deep scratches. Rawdump reaches somewhere around 1104MB and then returns the error. I could before go in and try to rerun version 2.0, which would start at around 1092 with a transfer rate near 2500K but then would slow to around 200K and a time of around 4 hours. It would be at this point that it would fail at around 3 minutes into the dump.

I would just consider buying another disc, but DDR Mario Mix is difficult to come by for a descent price.

I think this is the point that I go into a nervous breakdown. I took the disc to GameCrazy so that they could remove the scratches from it for $2. Afterward I installed Windows XP onto my machine again, and then ran all of the 99 updates that were available. I then enabled the PIO mode for all the IDE channels except the first primary. I then was able to run Rawdump v2.0 which had the same error at the same position. I ran FriiWii which ran this time, but errored at around the same position. And finally I ran Rawdump v0.4 which took approximately 3 hours to complete. When it completed, it unscrambled as that option was checked. Rawdump v0.4 when finished had a popup window saying "dump finished" (or something similar). The resulting .iso file was 1.04GB. I installed Nero 7.9 and burned the iso anyway which showed as a gamecube title in the wii channel menu, but when it loaded returned an error saying to disconnect the power cord.

I checked the Rawdump v0.4 log which gave a specific sector of the disc that it errored on (but I can't think that would be of any help)
