i have brought my kids a wii and i wanted to mod the machine , i have modded ps2,s in the past so iam no fool when it comes to soldering.

i have a pal machine imported from germany to uk. all iam worried about is will i need to cut any legs . all i want to do is just solder the chipin and done. also i have seen that the wiikey works on any wii so will that do the job without cutting legs and soldering elsewhere. afterall it is the kids and i dont want to get killed before new year

i think you are mixing cutting legs with cut legs,there are 2 types of d2c chip,one with some cut legs and one without.all you do is with cut legs d2c is dremmel the chip where the legs are cut and expose the legs in the actual chip so you can solder onto them.

if you look at install guyides for d2ckey then you would know this cos you will see it dosnt tell you to cut anything.but,explains about the d2c chip with legs cut.

as far as i know here in uk all the wiis are d2c key machines.more likely to have uncut legs.

You are most likely going to need a D2Ckey fitted, soldering that in is more difficult than any other modchip I can think of. Total 31 wires, but if you're confident then go for it.
