Help/Tips installing D2CKey

I'm having some problems with D2CKey installation.

To start out, I'm not new to soldering or modding. I've been repairing electronics for about 13 years.

Now to the problem. I'm using the alternative solder points, and after installation, the wii will accepts a disk, but the drive will not spin. It will then eject the disk 3/4 of the way out, then pull it back in. It will not spin, then it will eject it totally out of the drive.

I've checked continuity with my multimeter multiple times, and everything looks good. I'm wondering if the way the wii is acting indicates any specific wiring that may be incorrect.

This is the second chip (I have 3) I've tried, with the same results.

Any help or suggestions wold be appreciated.

ja ik had het zelfde hier, het kwam door dat de de eerste dvd sport er niet in gehad hebt daar staat de eerste update op die is dus nodig schijnbaar .

ik had ook de wii rechtstreeks omgebouwd van uit de doos .

en ik had het zelfde probleem .

naar dat ik m omgeruild had bij de winkel .

heb ik m eerst aangesloten en even de sport er ingedaan en toen gespeeld er kwam upgrade , daarna omgebouwd

en toen deed hij het wel

het kan zijn dat mensen hier het zelfde probleem onder vonden hebben ik weet het niet

Thanks, but I just figured out the problem. I was testing the drive with the pcb just set in the case. I didn't screw it down.

It seems that the screw that has the copper ground needs to be screwed down to make the drive work correctly when modded with D2CKey. If the screw is not set, the drive will do the double eject.

Found this out on another forum. Hope fully anyone with this problem will see this thread. Too bad there's not more documentation on this chip. Would have save me about 4 hours of troubleshooting.
