Ill help you out on what i remember!
First off go into the option menu then controls and the first option under the pic of the psp should be set on mode 3 so you control the player with the dpad and the analog is used for additional moves... here we go:
lets start with shooting:
You shoot with square try to be facing the goalie as turning your back anbd shooting is highly ineffective. Be gentle with this button. L1+Square is a Lob shot, useful but tough to master.
Crossing with the circle button: One tap is a high cross , a double tap is a chest high cross, and a triple tap is a low cross.
Circle can also be used for long passes you cando these manually by just calculating strength with the square button or you can try to give it to the last striker by pressing L1+Circle.
Triangle is the throughpass!! use this one a lot on the wingers! L1+Triangle is the aerial throughpass ->Hard to use
x is pass, fairly simple just look for the player you want to pass it and pass it the longer you hold it the farther the player is going to receive it (its gonna look for the player thats as far away as possible).
Now comes the tricky stuff:
THe key to scoring "one twos" Hold L1 and press X for pass the player that passed it will run so you can slide a throughpass (triangle) to him, this can also be done with circle for an aerial throughpass.
SHot feign: press square and when the bar is present press x for a cancel and a cool move.
Marseilles roulette--> if you changed the setup as i stated above just rotate the analog clockwise or counterclockwise in a full circle to do a 360 spin. tough to use but oh so beautiful.
stop--when the player is moving press r1 to come to a full stop.
Bicicle (crossover): slide the analog stick the direction you are going 2x, another method is L1 two times or R1 3 times.
Float the ball: quickly slide the analog stick down then up to lift the ball off the ground.
Upper body faint 1: while running quickly press a diagonal direction on the D-pad
Upper body faint 2: While the ball is stopped quickly press the D-pad 2x to the left or right (in relation to the direction you are facing)
Well hope this helps if you have anymore feel free to add to the topic.

Forgot about that ok for defense:
The best way to play defense is to actually follow the player running and with the dpad, by pressing X while doing this you will be a bit more agressive and it may result in a foul. SO press x only if u need to take the ball desperately (aka youre loosing and times running out, your marking the last man thats about to score, etc.)
Circle is for a sliding tacle, these are best used of course by sliding in front of the oponent or from the sides. I find sliding from the sides to be most effective but if u miss it could be a yellow card :(
And finally the Square button not many people know about this button but its extremely useful on defense. You use it to call an additional defender to help you out, Use it at your own risk as you could open up spaces for the oposition.
THe best way to clear the ball is L1 + O as it looks for your attacker s instead of blindly clearing, you can always double or tripple tap O to control height of the clearance/pass.
Well thats about it! ENJOY!
Well thats about it!!

A few more tips
- When you shoot, hold R2 to use the inside of your foot. This will make the ball less powerful but curl more.
- To use /\ and L1+/\, pay attention to the radar. If you see your striker (pref. a fast one) aligned with the defender, use it!
- Some players can use the Elastico move (aka flipflap), including Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovich etc, press R3 x3
- Double-tapping O is the best way to cross. It has power AND precision.
