Ten Xbox 360 Games to look out for in 2008

Well known publication Game Informer has put together a list of ten titles for Microsoft fans to look out for in the year 2008. The list is as follows: 1) Civilization Revolution, 2) Fable 2, 3)Fallout 3, 4) Grand Theft Auto IV, 5) Halo Wars, 6) Lost Odyssey, 7) Ninja Gaiden II, 8) Race Driver Grid, 9) Star Wars: Unleashed and 10) Too Human.


Sure, 2007 was a phenomenal year in video games. But to be honest, that’s so almost last year. We’ve got a long break ahead of us which means we’ll be blowing through everything for 2007. So we’re looking to 2008 to be an even bigger year in video games than this year. Don’t believe us? Take a look at what’s coming down the pipe next year. Sure there are a lot of games that haven’t been announced yet, but add a little speculation, a sprinkle of hope and you get our grand list of the Top 10 Games for 2008.

gta iv, halo wars, ninja gaiden ii and gears 2 should kick some major ass. i read a lot of rts games will be headed to consoles in '08 (halo wars being one of them).

No doubt the xbox 360 will have the most complete version of GTA4. Not to mention the trailers where running off the xbox 360. So ps3 is probably another port.

Being of Polish origins I can pretty much assure you an improved version of The Witcher is coming to the 360 (not planned for the PS3 as of now). Google for slight info, trust me for the rest.

Also - DEAD ISLAND.

This is going to be one HELL OF A GAME if done right.

Too Human was supposed to be the game to watch for back during its initial planned release of Spring 2007, too. The previews I've seen all say it's going to be great, and then it drops off the radar for a bit. I'm hoping it doesn't become this generations True Fantasy Live Online.

And last I'd heard, Lost Odyssey was planned for a late December release in Japan, and a February release in North America. I'm surprised that more details on the game haven't surfaced yet, since the Japanese media should have had the final versions to review by this point. Their reviews frequently beat the release date. I guess we'll find out soon enough whether it lives up to the hype.

The ps3 wasnt that hot this year, but somehow i feel developers are going to capitalize on other lazy devs by actually releasing solid stuff. GTA IV probably will be one of them. I wont be suprised after the **** year sony has had if 2008 is actually going to be the ps3's 360 year. AKA this year was the best for releases for the 360 and 2008 will be the best for the ps3. i could be wrong tho. Except all the releases the fanboys always cried about actually are coming out in 2008. If people learn from their mistakes then sony is in a one time lucky situation to overturn the tables. Back in the day if ANY console had the bad luck of the 360, ps3 (hardware problems, price, etc) they would be finished. 2007 is a weird year where we all were pissed off but somehow the companies stayed afloat. Race Driver Grid is codemasters next incarnation of TOCA... so it should be pretty decent, but shouldn't be on this list.

He has a point though. If they carry over the same controls from San Andreas for the Xbox to GTA4 on xbox 360 with no way to change them again I will definitely be getting it for PS3. I hope it turns out as good as it looks...Dead Rising is still one of my favorite games this generation...and this looks like its spiritual successor. Im a sucker for zombie games. Dead Island looks decent too...that one is getting multiplatform treatment too I believe so everyone can enjoy some zombie slaughter. Another game I forgot about was that Zombies in space game from capcom...cant remember what its called....that one is multiplatform too I think.

I really feel sorry for folk if it's a case of having to get this defensive. I was a long time PS1 and PS2 owner and I certainly have no nostalgic yearnings for the PS controller. I just don't get it. Adapt, move on.. it's only the Dreamcast controller that has ever been uncomfortable to me, but that didn't make me love the console any less. DC was a fantastic bit of kit and deserved better than it got. The 360 controller is perfect for my needs. It's as comfortable as anything I've ever used. I can ply for 6 hours straight without an hint of cramp. Of course in my hey day I was a PC gamer so Mouse/Keyboard would be my ultimate choice.... however if I went back now I'd probably struggle.

And don't forget boys, Microsoft made the sidewinder freestyle pro pads with motion sensing technology when sixaxis wasn't even a twinkle in Sony's eye. I brought one (bundled with a motorcross game) and it was frankly a novelty item :D

Thats my list of XB games that I'm looking forward too and will have to buy a block buster pass so I can play them all! About half of them are XB exclusive and the other half are multi platform. So I do not know who's gonna have a better year but still its gonna be a great year for gamers in general!:D

one last thing I don't know about is the 2008 Wii lineup so if someone could post it it would be appreciated!

the zombie game in space is Dead Space which looks awesome. I'm gonna have some good fun nights playing this while my friend watches and gets scared sh!tless!

Some good games for both consoles, for 360 no one mentioned alone in the dark 5, got love survival horror and loadsue nextyear. Just a shame the 360 won have chartered, that looks awesome
