3D Realms has revealed to UK trade publication MCV that it has plans to release Duke Nukem Forever on multiple formats. The title which has been reportedly in development for ten years was though to be a PC exclusive but the CEO of the company commented they are aiming for a multi platform release but there is no firm date just yet.

they would be idiots to release it only on the pc. consoles make much more money since its harder to pirate games.

I could probably learn how to develop games and develop one by myself in that time period.

Got a feeling it's BS though [10yr claim], there have been many developments over the past ten years, and if a game started that long ago was to be any good, it would have had to have been re-written a few times already.

I don't know why but I just can't picture Duke Nukem with next-gen graphics on PS3, last time I played Duke Nukem was on the PS1 years ago, it'll quite a leap from blocky graphics then onto full HD graphics...

sounds to me like they still have NOTHING to show other than pretty cgi to drag traffice to their page. Seriously i think they would be better off just selling the IP to a studio that can actually pull through and bring out the title. 10 years in the making and they are STILL ominous about what console to put it on?

considering 10 years ago there was no ps3, 360 or duel core p.cs, they have every right to be ominous :p

Well that revelation should buy them at least 3 more years of dev time.

It's going to come out on a console so awesome that companies' that are going to make it haven't even conceived of it yet.

Actually if you would bother to do some research you would know that there were many builds of DNF on different engines but they were scratched in favor of a more advanced version every time so I am sure they have something to show now, the question is are they pleased with it or will they chose to delay it once again. Your "anything better than nothing" attitude is sad, its exactly why EA can survive selling their crap, if these people can afford to try and make a game as they imagine it then let them take their time to do it, its very rare that developers can do their job without the pressure of deadlines, if they fail then it just wasn't meant to be. Having someone else to make it serves no purpose since it won't be the game people have been waiting for, unlike Tomb Rider where people wanted a fresh start after AoD right now people want more of what Duke Nukem 3D was, if 3D Realms fails here then we can think about selling the remains.

I think they should have released 5 expansions for Duke 3d over the last 10 years. Graphics dont matter, Duke 3d rocked.
