Rockstar has said that there has been no announcement regarding new, exclusive GTA IV content for the Xbox 360. In a conference call, company executives seemed to reveal that exclusive GTA IV episodic content would be making its way to Xbox 360 in fiscal year 2009. However they were actually talking about the two previously announced pieces of episodic content. One of the pieces will now be released in the fiscal year 2009, believed to be due to the delayed release of the game and one in fiscal 2008.

A Rockstar rep told Next-Gen Wednesday that the content in question is merely the second of the two previously announced pieces of episodic content making their way to Xbox 360. While both pieces of episodic content were initially scheduled to hit Xbox 360 in Take-Two’s fiscal 2008, the second piece of content will now be available in fiscal 2009, a delay presumably brought about by the later than expected release of the highly anticipated title, which slipped from a planned 2007 debut to a 2008 fiscal second quarter (February 1 - April 30) release.
Although unconfirmed, it has been widely reported that Microsoft forked out $50 million in advance to secure the content exclusively for its next-gen console, a move that is likely to heavily boost sales of the 360 version of the multiplatform title.
