Associated Press awards BioShock with the Game of the Year tag

The Associated Press has dished out various awards for the gaming industry and BioShock walked away with the game of the year. Elsewhere - Best Deal: OrangeBox, Best game that involves getting off the sofa: Rock Band, Worst Trend: Annual video game holiday deluge, Most tiring controversy: Manhunt 2, Best Trend: First Person Shooters, Most Overrated Game: Halo 3, Best idea gone horribly wrong: Lair and Most Frustrating Delays went to MGS and GTA IV.

Andrew Ryan's office is like 3/4 through the game, and after that is awesome (don't want to include spoilers).
You haven't played many games if you think the final boss is lame. I have seen a LOT of lame bosses in my days.

Im sorry you didnt get it...honestly alot of people didnt, but for those that followed the story and understood its message its probably the most well thought out storyline in any video game in history. Im just waiting for Ebert to come out and admit that this one is indeed art.

I dont know about lamest boss ever but as you say Bioshock is nonsense after Ryan's Office.

I hate spending a whole game building up powers and then having them taken off you. Added to this is the crappy way it kills your lifebar as well.

It just felt tacked on and a totally unnecessary attempt at trying to prolong the game.

As for Halo 3 the less said about the campaign mode the better.

Halo used to be a superb single player campaign game with a brilliant online mode now its a brilliant online game with a crap single player campaign mode.

OLD GAMES?? we are still in 2007 last time I checked, all these games were released in 2007, doesn't make them old to me.....

This thread is about game awards not which console is better, its just a shame that all fanboys (whatever format) seem to lack common sense.
Bioshock fully deserves its title of GOTY - a fantastic story, a glorious game and really pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved with the 360.

Personally there hasn't been a game I've enjoyed more all year. :D

I think i agree with both those statements, i have had hours of fun outta the H3 multiplayer but the conclusion to the storyline wasn't exactly thrilling.

Lair was just horrible, I thought the premise and ideas behind it were great but when it came to getting some "hands on" time it was very very poor, unresponsive/sluggish controls, real frame-rate issues and disappointing CGI. I despair for the PS3 at this moment in time I really do....

i only just got bioshock and i completed it within 2 days (all little sisters saved). damn good game even if it is a little short.

Bioshock, looks pretty, great atmosphere, but it's just another scary shooter. Been there, done that too many times already.
