View Full Version : Memento firmware v1.1, supports DEV modes to launch applications from USB HDD/memory stick!
The Memento team are back with their latest hacked firmware for use with the Memor 32 memoey card for PS2. The new v1.1 build now adds Dev1 and Dev 3 mode which allows for the launching of up to four different applications from the memory card/USB hdd and memory stick. The Memor 32 is available to buy from <A href="http://www.divineo.de/php/affstart.php?affcode=66623&prod=ps2-m32" target="_blank">Divineo.de</a> / <A href="http://www.divineo.fr/php/affstart.php?affcode=66623&prod=ps2-m32" target="_blank">Divineo.fr</a> / <A href="http://www.divineo.es/php/affstart.php?affcode=66623&prod=ps2-memor32" target="_blank">Divineo.es</a> and <a href="http://www.divineo.it/php/affstart.php?affcode=66623&prod=ps2-memor32" target="_blank">Divineo.it</a>.
Like promised in our "to-do" list, we have added the first important feature to the Memento Firmware! Dev1 and DEV 3 full implementation.
It is now possible to launch up to four different .ELF applications from DEV1 (Memor32 memory card) and four different .ELF applications from DEV3 (USB Flash memory stick).
DEV2 (HDD boot of .ELF Files) will be implemented with next Firmware update, toghether with the HDD Support.

has anyone got the ELF booting to work? I tried several of my old ELF files from my old independence exploit card, and I could not get any of them to boot. Do I also need to patch the ELF files?

I really want to buy this, as I never got mods working otherwise and think this would be a little more friendly on my disc drive/laser, but I'm a little wary of the sites.. Why not divineo.com? Why is it only on select divineo.* sites?

Legal troubles in the US and Canada apparently.

They should also implement something like HDLoader into their firmware, so that you could boot games from hdd directly without using any external .ELF application (the way ToxicOS (aka hdl) works on DMS4 firmware). Then it's going to be worth getting one of these memory cards.

Better if the code could run from a usb stick and allowing you to play backups!!!

I don't see how it could be legal troubles when the .ca and .com sell DS flash carts... same thing basically. The device isn't illegal it is what 99.9% of people who have them do with it that is

It doesn't have to make sense. That's why the Memor32 gets it's super powers from a "third party". And that's why it costs 70 bucks. Pirates don't usually make sense.

So is there anything this card can now do that you can't with the Independance exploit and HDLoader ?

I wish Maxconsole was more up-front about this charade.
We all know that the real purpose of the memor32 was discussed on Maxconsole before it was even released. "Memento" never "hacked" any firmware; they developed it. Memento secretly (?!) released the product through a front company and pretends to be unrelated. Somehow, the card was released/sold without even having the ability to interface with a PC, so it's obvious that the stated purpose of the device was never its intended purpose. How could it be that Memento released "unofficial" firmware before the "official" firmware was released? Hmmm...

This one works with any console old or new unlike indipendence and direct boots games burned to dvdr withouth opening or even touching the console.
Don't think you can do that with indipendence, right?
I have a modded console myself but this is *really* cool if you don't and don't want to void your warranty.

It's only going to be gentler on your drive/laser if you run the hdloader elf from the mem card and have your games stored on hard drive. If you use it to boot DVD games it's going to be exactly the same as any other exploit or modchip.
The memcard is still way too late and way too expensive, but now that it has a dev mode it's far more interesting - revive a ps2 with a dead dvd drive with one of these, a network adapter and a hard drive (will be an incredibly expensive fix if you don't already have a network adapter and hd though).
And yes the independence exploit CAN direct boot games (without patching too) on a ps2 without opening your console or voiding the warranty. The caveat being you need a way to get the file onto the memcard (AR, GS, CB etc, a friend with a modded console) and it only works on a fat.

Agreed and if I had a Slim PS2 I'd buy one right now but if you have a fat with a HD installed running HDLoader from the exploit (as I have) you're unlikely to ever use DVDRs so I don't see any advantage in the memor32 right now.
I'm curious to know of any features it might offer over the exploit though.

Is there any custom OS's for the PS2 that we can just boot from the Dev expliots?
Does it boot imports as well?
lorin

Yes it also boots imports, remember though that if you experience black and white screen: use an RGB cable instead of the normal video caple (PAL users)
No you cannnot run this from anything other than the Memor32 (at the moment)
Has anyone tried to run HDLoader elf and see what happens?
