well, i have pq's psp movie creator as well, but when I try to open a dvd it tells me:
"Invalid Disc Region.
This DVD-video disc cannot be played, because it is not
authored to play in the current system region.
The region mismatch may be fixed by changing the
system region (with DVDRgn.exe)."
Now, the thing is that I do have "DVD Region+CSS Free 5.8" running, and when I play the DVD in "Power DVD" it works!
it also works in imtoo dvd ripper.
I dunno why it won't work in psp movie creator.

How do you make DVD Shrink rip into one vob file?
Nevermind i found it. I do have another question though. I'm trying to convert anime and don't care for the english dub so i just remove it and leave the original japanese language track and the english subtitle track. After i convert it though I also have the dysynch problem and i can't figure out how to turn the subtitles on when i watch it on my psp.

PSP does not have subtitle support for video files. The subs will have to be hard matted into the video.

I use Flask and PSP9. I use flask to create one .AVI after I crop the black borders (if needed) or add perm subs (if needed), then use PSP9 to create the mp4.

if you set it in the menu then you can make DVD Decrypter do this too ...
i recommend
DVD Decrypter
and then use
PSP Video 9
to convert to PSP :D

i heartily second that recommendation. no problems with aspect ratios or anything.
there's a tutorial out there on using both psp video 9 and dvd decrypter...
edit: found it. http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/dvdtopsp.html

I still say that pqdvd is better. Sure, it actually COST money, but it handles aspect ratios just fine as well as subtitles, albiet they are hardcoded when creating the mp4, but I think it's a d@mn sharp application ;) Also, it doesn't require as much HD space as having to decrypt the dvd to your HD first.

is the dvd your trying to convert NTSC or PAL? Pqdvd SHOULD detect this and choose the proper frame rate. If the dvd is NTSC, make sure that the framerate is 15fps, if it's NTSC, choose 30fps. That's about all I can think of at the moment. Give it a shot and see.

dvd decrypter then pspvideo9

My bad, it should have been, if the dvd is PAL, choose 15fps, if it's NTSC, choose 30fps
