Matt Fazzer says he's working on the first ever Cross-Platform Playstation Portable Emulator, compatible with Xbox, Linux, Windows and Mac formats. There is no proof, and to us it seems like wishful thinking hopefully we are proved wrong. He has got a release date provisonally penned for 1st October 2005, time will tell if this is real or not but for now take it as make believe!

Today I have finally decided on an official release date for PSPemu. The BETA version will be released without the firmware(Due To Security Reasons.)meaning you will have to provide it yourself. The official release date is currently 1st October 2005,but this could go either way depending on my progress.Although the BETA version will not contain firmware, a custom BIOS will be available as of the 3rd October.
Screenshots will be added later this week, not tomorrow because I am busy,it could be a while before I get to sit down and work on PSPemu project, which may hold back the planned release date. But then i am providing the emulator for free and in my own time, it will be extremely hectic considering i go back to school on tuesday(homework, stress and tiredness)...we shall have to see what happens.

So he's trying to make a psp emulator for xbox, and computer? Doesn't the psp have a 333 mz processor which is same as the ps2. I'm confused yet again.

Im sorry to say this.... Butin my mind its fake.

"+Stable PSP Firmware Emulation" "+2.0 Web Browser Emulation" How did he get past the protection to do a full dump of the Version 2.00 firmware in order to emulate it? Seeing as the Version 2.00 firmware update is only partial, even if he maneged to emulate a V1.00 Firmware 100% how did he do it in sutch a short time?

This alone makes this seriously dodgy. But let's wait and see, I'm not holding my breath though.

This screams fake.
Indications:
- XBOX Version - (Limitations - No WiFi or ISO Support) - no developer would develop for Xbox at this early stage since it means a hell of a lot of optimization
- Wallpaper Customisation - a real emu dev wouldn't even mention this. It comes "for free" when you emulate the CPU and memory stick
- UMD Emulation(.umd files - new file type)* - this guy doesn't even know that ISO == UMD. If you have an emulator, it should be a non-issue to mount an ISO as UMD drive.
- multiplatform?! no developer would release for all platforms simultaniously unless it's written in Java which I highly doubt
- no mentioning of programming details (language, audio support)
- no emu development history
- google search for mattfazzer reveals he started threads like "Gimme Next Gen Em!", "I've Found A Working Xbox Emulator!", "Gamecube Emulation?!?"

That guy coding an emulator with this feature set?
Not bloody likely.

It's a wishlist and nothing more. I wonder how this even made it to the mainpage.

Zak., you have pretty valid points and I kinda agree with you I guess we'll find out Oct 1. as he claims., But I would like to point out that the code dosent' have to be in java for it to be multiplatform., that's what visual basics .net is for, sorta like java it creates bytecode for all languages not just java.

So you want the tell me that you could code something as complex as a PSP emulator in .NET and it runs on Mac and Linux?
I'm not really sure if Mono (.NET environment for Linux and MAC) is that far, personally I really really doubt it. Also you'd need cross-platform OpenGL support which probably is a *****.

I realize you can code cross-platform in .NET but I very much doubt that it would run on Mac and Linux without problems.
I also found a video of the kid :) Search for his nickname...

I think it's not gonna happen for xbox but probably for xbox 360. Anyway this release will only support piracy because how how many people are gonna buy the game and put it on their xbox, o yeah you can't put umds in the xbox so the only way is to download them. This is stupid. He just wants the attention. Just my opinion
