wiikey problem or firmware

Hi Guys can anybody shed any light on this problem i have will a wii,
I've taken a wii to look at it was modded by consoleworkshop the guy has said it has stopped reading backups just originals. so ive tried using the config 1.3 wiilkey disc not reading it checked the firmware on the wii it's 3.1 so i reformatted the wii tried again not reading the disc tried backup games not reading disc,

So i stripped the old wiikey out & solder a new wiikey in insert the config disc it picks it up on screen! click the start button then the neon light light on the drive flashs on then off & i'm getting black screen with error eject disc & turn off console also tried 1.2 setup disc

Tried three wiikeys & the old wiikey that was installed in the first place,
still the same problem i no it's not the install because i've been modding consoles for 5 years now & done over 30 wii's plus i've reinstalled new kynar twice i think it's the firmware 3.1 ????????

Ive got the same problem with config disc 1.3 with update 1.9b.

I hexedited an config disc, put it in then Wiikey ask for a real config disc. Then I put the 1.3 (unedited) in and it will load. Or you use GCOS version!

Yeah just read it on psx i've hexedit it just need to burn

Will the edited one still bring the gcube logo up then ask for original disc

Yeah sorted mine last night changed the first line using hexedit
