Hi,

I have a previously semi-bircked Japanese Wii(bricked by Mario Party, fixed with SMG) on firmware 3.1J(updated via internet). Not sure about the modchip though, but I got it from Hong Kong if that's any help.

The problem I have is that my Wii won't play many of my original gamecube games anymore.

Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart doesn't work, but Spiderman 2 does! The problem started since the semi-brick, that is to say that all my GC games worked before my Wii was semi-bricked. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm completely lost about what to do. I'm pretty sure all my GC games are PAL since I bought all of them in the UK. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

As of now, none of my original GC discs work after my WiiD mod. I checked all my connections and even re-soldered and none of them work. All other discs however, (Original Wii games, Backups and GC GCOS discs) work perfectly.

Something could have just been damaged on it's own because this topic has even been covered on Nintendo's Wii Faq's site as a problem that people would have to send in their Wiis for repair. Happened to my bro's Wii and he never even attempted to mod it.

Hope you can find a way to fix it, but sending it to Nintendo with proof you attempted a mod might not be a good idea. :D

No, the games are not of the same region, but the thing I don't understand is that they were working before the semi-brick... Would it be helpful to open up the Wii to confirm which mod chip I have?

Just updated to 1.9b, now even spiderman 2 won't work! I then tried using 1.3 config disk, went into GCOS mp>>boot DVD. It seemed to recognise Mario Kart, but then asked me to select either PAL or NTSC.

Tried both, PAL gave a blank sceen, then my TV said no signal. NTSC gave a constant green screen......

Downloading 1.9g at the moment to test, if it still doesn't work, at least I'll be able to play SMG (I hope)
