Ok strange one here... let me give you some history:-
Couldn't wait for Metriod a while back so I updated to 3.1U on a PAL Wii with Wiikey.
Got the double news/weather channels etc etc.
Not used the Wii for a while. Played Mysims and noticed that I was on 3.1E firmware (?)
Anyway, some of the later disc's I've burnt are not reading, same media, same burning program (Imgburn) etc etc. Older discs are working fine but Namco musuem/manhunt etc don't read.
Metroid reads and play as do others.
I thought about checking for another firmware update and when I choose that option it says that if my hardware has been alternated it could render it unusable.
I don't think I've seen that message before so I'm a bit wary about proceeding?
Any ideas on either? I'm not running 1.9 Wiikey, gonna try that next (not b, just 1.9)
TIA

UPDATE:
Ok its me being a numpty, I think I've sorted the disc reading issue out :o
But I'm still curious about the update from the internet and that message, is it just scaremongering?

Hi, I'm having a similar problem I think. All of a sudden, a few of my latest discs have stopped working. All my older discs still work fine. Just the last 8 to 10 have stopped working. In addition, I've continued to use the same process and media and even backed up Mario and Sonic Olympic Games today and it worked.
I'm confused as to why some of the other more recent games (like FIFA Soccer 08) were working and have now stopped.
Would you mind sharing how you fixed your issue?
And just for clarification, I did read this post to say that the following is just a scare tactic message, correct? - - - if my hardware has been alternated it could render it unusable.

The reason my last lot of games didn't work is that I hadn't changed my region to PAL in regionfrii :D
Once I sorted that I was fine, if you don't burn games often (like me) its something you can easily forget to check

you mean you change every iso to pal before burnin? and for example manhunt doesn't work if you enable region free @ 1.3 config disc?

Correct, I've never messed with the region of the Wiikey config disc, I've always changed the ISO prior to burning.
Manhunt works fine on my Wiikey 1.9 after changing its Region with Regionfrii
