Midway has announced that Blacksite Area 51 has gone gold and will be available in stores from November 12th for Xbox 360 and PC platforms. However, it is expected that the PS3 version will hit in time for the holidays, with a demo for Live (another one) and the PS3 being planned for a release later on.

BlackSite: Area 51 gives gamers a chance to direct their living, breathing squad mates with a context-sensitive "One-Button Squad Command" control. Destructible environments can be reduced to rubble, creating interactive cover points that can be blown away with enough firepower.
Blacksite: Area 51 is set to ship to stores Nov. 12 for Xbox 360 and PC, with a PlayStation 3 version expected in time for the holidays.

Gamers can still download the BlackSite teaser demo on Xbox LIVE Marketplace to take to the streets in Rachel, NV, controlling their squad and blasting through fully-realistic and interactive environments using the latest in military weaponry. Another demo for Xbox Live is scheduled to be released soon, and a PS3 demo will be released later this year.

since when did midway start making great games? they churn out one mediocre offering after the other. and then they pack in some mortal kombat game in between.

okok so maybe theyre not as bad as EA, with fewer bugs in their games but theyre still preety bad. and to be honest, after the sheer disappointment of timeshift i think this one is going to be a similar letdown.

dont know why but i have always put blacksite and timeshift in the same box. (oh and i also thought this was a sequel to the last gen fps area 51).

I believe it was Vivendi Games that made TimeShift.
I am playing through TimeShift right now and I am pretty impressed. Much better than your average shooter offering something very different.

Hope they solved the HUGE framerate problems from the last demo. I was surprised my 360 didn't commit suicide.
