I've justed updated to Vista Business to enable me to connect to a network at the office.

Installation went fine but I cannot now connect to the internet using my Netgear wireless router at home because the Network Key will not be accepted by Windows (I think) It wants 5 or 10 charachters and my Network key is 8 letters.

This always worked before and the key is used by other laptops and the desktop in the home.

How do I get Vista professional to accept a network key containing only 8 charachters?

Hope someone can help.

Gerry

I have a format-on-sight policy in place at my company when it comes to vista. You would have been better off upgrading to XP Pro.

If you _really_ want to make it work, find out the actual hexadecimal wep key your router is using, and enter that instead. Passphrase parsing is not standardized. When in doubt, use 26 HEX digits.
