Guitar Hero III to receive offline co-op quickplay mode patch

According to internet reports, a patch will soon be released that will enable the offline co-op quickplay mode on Guitar Hero III for the Xbox 360. Unfortunately there is no news if a similar patch will hit the PS3 and Wii at the moment.


When Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock launches next Tuesday, Activision, Red Octane and Neversoft will also deliver a patch via Xbox Live. The patch apparently enables offline co-op quickplay on the Xbox 360 version, reads a fact sheet delivered to 1UP alongside a review build of the game.
There's no mention of an impending patch for the PlayStation 3 and Wii versions, but we assume they're in the works or already part of the game that will be on shelves next week. We'll be checking with the companies involved and pass on the complete answer Monday.

my ps2 version haves offline co-op quickplay, lol they did it for ps2 but forgot ps3 and 360

Oh no, I had to wait 1 minute before I played game for the first time because of that patch, I better go switch to PC gaming...

I don't see why you accept patches on computers but don't on consoles. Please elaborate why your argument would be worth it, when I only had to wait 1 minute for a patch on my 360.

i havent found a way, theres only battle, face off or pro face off. thought that kind of sucked but i guess thats what quick co op is for :/

as you seem to be interested further in my opinion, then here it is. i have never been into pc gaming until this gen. i was never really interested in patches, bonus maps, mods, online playing and all that stuff. i am pretty much an arcade game player, so my favor is to switch a console on, throw a game in there, play it for 1-5 hours and then turn it off.

I honestly could care less about patches, online play, etc...

Invite some friends over and get your rock on.

You only live online in terms of gaming when you have no friends to play with. If you have enough of a social life, online gaming is never required.

Actually that patch came out Saturday morning.
And it alleges to add offline coop quickplay.
Original plans were Online coop quickplay only and offline career coop only.
Now they added the offline quickplay so when you pass the guitar to your lacky friends they can pick easy and normal. whereas forced to use career, youd have to exit all the way back out to rechoose the difficulty.

However you earn cash for coop career now so if your just playing with the same person, best to career it anyways.

I guess I seem passive aggressive because in the past you have used comments like that to provoke some nasty arguments in the forums. While I believe arguments have their place in forums (debating), I just have seen some ugly stuff came after your posts sometimes. :D

I cant argue with the 1-5 hour thing at all...but I am thankful for patches in a way if they actually fix things. I cant even count how many older generation games where I found a glitch that made me have to restart or screwed up my save or pissed me off to the point of just abandoning the game...that hasnt happened to me yet this gen :)

I am primarily an offline player as well...online is ok but frankly I dont have enough friends offline with the same tastes in gaming that I have. Online I guess ive just been soured by too many cursing children to just go randomly jump into a game.

Thats why I thought Bioshock was so good, its focus was on the single player and too many games today have single player as an afterthought. Im really liking what I have seen about uncharted for the same reason, so I'm trying to weasel a trade out of a friend that has a 20 gig he uses exclusively for blu-ray. I have a Blu-Ray player I havent even hooked up and joking told him I would trade and he actually seems interested....grapeape may be a 3 console owner sooner than expected.
