MS in talks to help deliver the Halo film

Peter Jackson's representative Ken Kamins has said that "pre-production is in full swing, with Weta Digital and Weta Workshop (both under the watchful eye of Jackson) hard at work on the movie." Rumours had suggested that Fox and Universal pulled out because of concern over the budget rising above $135 million. However Kains claims that "Basically, they said that in order to move forward with the film, the filmmakers had to significantly reduce their deals. They waited until the last minute to have this conversation. Peter and Fran, after speaking with their producing partners and with Microsoft and Bungie, respectfully declined."

I hope that they get the movie moving along! Peter Jackson would be GREAT for that! He's done such a good job on the LOTR Movies, and on King Kong. And his movies are usually long which is nice!

Wow, it's amazing how Zeus was able to take a short blurb on what the status quo was, and then rephrase it in an impossible-to-understand way.

Anyway, just read the real article. Sounds like MS is saying "it's in pre-production, Jackson is enthusiastic!" whereas the word on the street is saying that "When Jackson heard how greedy MS was, he declined to work on it."

Labeling every single video game based movie and saying they "suck" is dumb. Not disagreeing that there are quite a few of crappy video game movies, but with Peter Jackson (and a little $$), I have no doubt this movie will have potential.

while both of those did suck, I'll give you that, you've got to remember, how much of a story did Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat really have to begin with? Halo has a inifinitely better story, which can easily be translated into a great movie.

I feel bad for Peter Jackson, This movies storyline is going to suck. the movie will be a turd, but will smash the box office due to fanboy mania. Then the peter jackson will get made fun of by his peers for making such an easy cheesy money grabber crap fest.

The only reason Peter wanted to do this is because hes a New Zealander and so is Bungie.

I think we should let the king of crappness Uwe Boll direct this movie, that way peters carrier doesnt get ruined.
