Estimates suggest 360 continues to outsell Wii

According to estimates from VG Chartz, the Xbox 360 is continuing to outsell the Wii week by week despite the Xbox 360 suffering a 10% drop. PS3 sales dropped for the week to 23,000 in comparison to 117,000 for the Xbox 360 and 126,000 for the Xbox 360. Elsewhere, as far as software is concerned, Halo 3 was back on top shifting 200k copies during the week which means it has nearly hit 4 million total copies sold.

This site is a 360 owners wet dream. Oh Oh the 360 outsold the Wii......................never mind the Wii has been out of stock in the UK in most retail outlets for a while. Not sure about other regions.

I love my 360 and PS3 but a bad game on the 360 and noone raises an eyebrow, a bad on on the ps3 and we have countless articles on how Sony is doomed.

About 100 dross games on the Wii and noone cares.

Some people are interested in sales, not me personally so I'm not going to bother commenting on that one. With regards to why "noone raises an eyebrow" when a bad 360 game is released, I think that's because the 360 has so many great games already whereas the PS3 has... R:FoM?

Nobody talks about the Wii games because they're obviously not important for sales at the moment. The PS3 and 360 need the great exclusives, for example Halo 3, to push sales.

Agree with some of what you say, but the difference between a bad game on the 360 and a bad game on the PS3, is the fact that the 360 has a huge library of games and a good percentage of great games, however the PS3 by comparison has a small library of games and of those only a small percentage are worth the money. So each game that comes out is held up to scrutiny.


You are 100% right. But by comparison the 360 has been out nearly 2 years. As it was the only console on the block it got the benefit of the doubt.

The 360 launch games and following 6 months were hardly great. The odd exception but mostly cack.

Is anyone surprised? everytime the PS3 has a price cut it's sales shoot up but back down almost as quick.

Yet the 360 continues to show strong week on week sales.

I was more interested in the games figures, they leave you in no doubt as to why developers are not bothering to put a lot of time or effort into PS3 games, 750,000 360 games sold vs 170,000 PS3, that tells you all you need to know. Until that trend is reversed the PS3 is going to continue to see sub-standard games.

Yes. It's all about the attach rate and cold, hard cash as far as developers are concerned. This is why the Xbox360 has such a great future ahead of it compared to the PS3.
