Hi, I got a fat PS2 with a mod chip already installed but I want to mod a friends PS2 system.

What will I need to mod their system using the memory card exploit? I already have my modded PS2 so do I just need to get a Hard Drive for her PS2? BTW, my friend has a fat PS2 with the network adapter.

1. it has to be a fat ps2 and not a slim, the MC exploit does not work on slim models.
2. you need an IDE HDD(preferably not western digital because most of them don't fit on the network adapter).
3. Sony network adapter, can be found on ebay
4. do a search on google for sksapps.

theres a lot of guides on how to make the exploit, do it yourself on your ps2, then just copy your memory card to hers, or just use your ps2 and her memory card.

oh wait i have the files here :D
ready to just be copied to memory card.
I hope you know how to send this to memory card.
just copy this folder to the memory card, it should boot with most ps1 games, and its ready with hdloader :D

This covers perfectly detailed what you are looking for if u dont have a direct way of transferring files to memory card:
http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=hdexploit.html
Making a CD with exploit installer, that has HDLoader. After done, it directly boots to HDLoader when you put the PSX game in.

But what i recommend if your friend can hook her computer to PS2 to transfer games/etc. there, is:
http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=exploitmaker.html
It's quite same than that other, but it makes that it boots into uLaunchElf(application manager), where u can put HDLoader, HDLserver(game transferring program), SMS(a media center) etc. there.

Wow, thanks for all the help. I forgot I posted this topic. :D

She has a fat PS2 with the network adapter. So now that xllzerollx has already provided the required files all I will really need is a way to put those files on a PS2 memory card.

Basically I can go pick up Action Replay Max then tell her all she needs is a HDD that is compatible. If she gives me the money I can get one for her.

Thanks again everyone.

Sorry for the double post. Unfortunately she is unable to connect the PS2 up to her computer since it is in a completely different part of her house and it would probably be annoying to drag it back and forth each time she wants to install new games to the hard drive.

She has a PSP with a 4GB memory card. Can she put the files on the memory card for her PSP and transfer via USB?

Also I have a few PSX games around the house. I think I have FFVII, FFIX, Einhander, Front Mission 3, Devil Dice, Intelligent Qube, Lunar 1 and 2 and maybe a few others. Hopefully one of those will work.

Do I just put the files on her memory card then boot up any of my PSX games to go straight to the interface where I can launch the files?

By files, if u mean PS2 games, i dont think that kind of program exists that can copy game properly to a PS2 HDD from USB since all games on HDD are in partitions, not as ISOs. But you can transfer other files freely, but i dont think it supports PSP as USB-stick.

They all work as bootdisc as long as u have put the game id in TITLE.DB

Yes.

Thanks for the answers. One more question about transfering.

What is the easiest way to get PS2 games on her HDD if I use this exploit? I know I could always rent them or rip them from the original PS2 game but if I already have ISO's how do I go about putting them on her HDD? The last thing I would ever want to do is take the HDD out and use it as a slave on my computer.

I have a 1000 GB External HDD. Can I connect that to the PS2 via USB to transfer the files?

Wel, easiest is to transfer the games to PS2 with HDL_server program from computer using cross-over cable.
Thought she has PS2 and computer in separate rooms, i've thought the easiest method:
Launch PS2 with uLaunchElf, set HDL_server as default program with autoboot timer in uLaunchElf, turn PS2 off.
Carry PS2, power-cable and crossover-cable to computer room and put the wires.
Turn PS2 on, wait like 30seconds,
send games to PS2 :) No need TV/controllers :)

And HDLoader has ability to rip games to HDD too, but in some games, like FFXII, it needs a patch, so u need to apply the patch while the ISO is in computer.

About USB HDD things, i advise asking those things in http://psx-scene.com/forums/ps2-hdd-discussion/
That's not my territory of scene, so i dont know about those :)
