Seeing as I've just got hold of my PSP and it has no dust underscreen or dead/stuck pixels I'm wondering how everyone else fared...

<prays that his white PSP arrives without dust or dead pixels too> :D

I've got one dead pixel in my screen... almost smack in the middle of the screen too so it turned me off my PSP initally :( Sony Japan didn't consider it faulty when I contacted them about it (was living in Japan at the time).

I've learned to live with it and don't notice it anymore, but it varies between games how noticable it is.

Maybe I should have created a 5th poll option:

My PSP has none now because I smashed it to pieces

Interesting about them growing though, I thought that they were part of the manufacturing process, ergo if you had X amount from day 1 they would be there for good...Not that they would call for reinforcements and multiply

<looks at currently pixel perfect PSP with suspcion whilst weilding a hammer>

No dead or stuck pixels on my imported jp 1.50 psp, and no dust either.
The only complainments i have, is that no matter how carefull i am, my psp is scratched as hell, and my d-pad is starting to lose response. i have to press much harder than when i bought it.

one has 5 one has 2

what happens is that when you get a few in a line they can over time burn ones next to them and grow

If you have a few you should send it back which I wish I could do on one of mine but I have to send to japan, when it gets there wait for sony collection day - wait for sony to return to liksang - wait for it to get back delivered to uk - hope i dont get charged further import tax - finally play again after several months :(

I got the last 1.50 psp in my area and it has 1 dead pixel and one stuck white pixel. Not that bad. But i almost always see one of them which sucks. I have only had it like a week or two and target said i could return it up to 3 months so if a downgrader or had for 1.5x/2.0 comes out soon i'll just got exchange it. Or sony does guarantee it for one year so if not in 3 months hopefully within a year and then ill just have sony replace it. And if all else fails i'll just buy a replacement screen off of divineo

:) I've purchased 3 jap V1.50 PSP's from Hong kong to sell on and not one of them have had dead pixels, the reason being, Jap consoles are FAR better build quality than the crap US and EU china built consoles. The Jap PSP's have the superior Sharp LCD screen where-as the US and EU PSP's have the crap SAMSUNG screen.

As ever we in the west get shafted.

Indeed, my ceramics finally cleared Customs and arrived today and they are all pixel perfect  plus the build quality of the new machines (with the redesigned square button etc..) is much better than the initial release.

How much did it cost to import your psp? I live in the US and i'm thinking about importing a white psp but i heard that customs can be pretty expensive. Also, i read in another thread that you are going to be selling pixel perfect replacement screens for the psp and i was wondering when you are going to start that up and how much they are going to cost?

Hi

I import in bulk because I'm a reseller, website is ceramicPSP.com (http://ceramicpsp.com). Tax is a *****, esp on PSPs as Customs know exactly what they are and how much they are worth.

Check out the comments on Lik-Sang, most people are getting hit between £40 and £70.00 worth of tax.

In regards to the screens - I canned the first supplier because the screens were not upto par. I'm currently checking out another supplier and if he makes the grade then I'll have them on the site.

Good news is all of my ceramics are pixel perfect and we offer a free downgrading service too ;)

Nice to see that you are not putting up with any crap when it comes to the screens. When you find a very good supplier let me know because i will definatly buy one off ya to replace mine

Well, let me start off by saying that I am a perfectionist when it comes to my entertainment... I bought a PSP on the US release (v1.50)... It had one dead pixel... wasn't happy with it so I called Sony about 3 months later and requested an exchange (as Game Stop would not exchange it). Sony sent me a replacement and it had 3 dead pixels and a line down the center of the screen (v1.51 - BITCHES!)... I called Sony again and made a big deal about the dead pixels and they sent me Hotshots Golf and a replacement unit that had no dead pixels... Just let me say that I HaTE Sony and there inferior product!

I still wasn't happy because the unit was v1.51... so I went to all the Targets in my area... and about 23 PSPs latter I found one with out any dead pixels... I guess I got the last LAUGH Sony (23 x $270.00 USD = $6210.00)... Target Kicks AsS! Target let me look through all the PSP I wanted till I found one that I liked... The units that I looked through that I didn't take were marked defected and sent back to Sony... (sorry guys they were all v1.50... but all were poor quality)

The average of dead pixels was 2... There were lots of them with manufacturing dust trapped in between the screen!!! Sony has a great product - BUT very inferior quality when it came to the manufacturing aspect!

I have 2 stuck pixels on my Jap PSP. A friend of mine has 5! So they're not as perfect as some might hope.
