Bungie Community Outraged Over Missing "XBL Public" Halo 3 Feature

Avid Halo 3 fans are reportedly fuming after finding out that the final retail copy of Halo 3 does not include a feature called 'XBL Public' which was made public knowledge during late 2006. The respective feature promised to allow players to search for public custom games which they could join via Live.


Does the term "XBL Public" sound familiar to you? It might if you're a Halo fan who's been following Halo 3 since it was first announced. It certainly rings a bell to the millions of Bungie.net users, hundreds of which are now up in arms over a "promised" Halo 3 feature by Bungie, which is missing from the final game.

In November of 2006, 1UP interviewed Colm Nelson, a Halo 3 user interface designer, who talked about a Halo 3 online feature called "XBL Public." The feature would let players search for public custom games, via Xbox Live, which they could then join. Likewise, players would be able to make their own game party public, thus allowing other players searching XBL Public to join their game.

1) Exept Water and some HDR graphic its Halo 2 in HD.

2) Game last 4 hours max if u are blind and impaied,and u need to visit some levels up to 3 times like running in circle.

3) Spend 80€ on the Limited Edition and u get a nice set of scratched cup holders.

4) Pay 60 € to play the game online the only rumored good thing bout the title and Live crashes almost an entire day.

5) Save your game and u risk it to start all it over again ?

6) Rely on reviews and u can see they received up to 800$ bribes for them, nobody of all the 10/10 online magazines rates even mentioned....

7) They advertise HD video content on the limited and legendary boxes 80/130€ and u ll find out its low res REMASTER HIGH QUALITY but always LOW RES .......

8) Advertised as 1080p even months before its launch and now we find out its 640p.

9) Halo 3: Finish the Fight, more like Finish the Console - mass Disc errors/RRoD reported.

its funny because it was all the idiots that finaly persuaded me to sign up here, i'd been a lurker for years but i finaly reached breaking point with all the idiots and had to sign up just so i could make an ignore list and be able to browse the board in some degree of peace.

yes ps3 and wii sections all suffer although tbh its pretty much the same people in every one, if its in the forum for "their" console then its defending it and slagging off the others, if its in one of the other forums then its just slagging them off, since the mods cant ban and addmin cant be arsed either quit or make heavy use of your ignore list.

Are you serious? Ace jumps into PS3 threads and spams **** all the time. He doesn't do his job, he adds to the trash. I have seen him single handedly spam threads and create those same PS3 vs 360 Console War discussions.

Good idea, limit what PS3 users can say while trash like Banfro get off easy with Wacka claiming he does nothing wrong and actually has meaning to his posts. He said this is his own words too no less. Look it up.

I have noticed here it is fine to bash PS3 whether you are a mod or not, once you bash the 360 however, notice how fast Wacka jumps in to edit and/or delete posts.

Wow, this is sadly all too true. The goal of most threads now-a-days seems to be like "HA! I told you the xbox/ps3/wii sucks!!" Instead of the useful insight and hype building it used to be. Maxconsole is the ultimate news source, but the comments you guys make basically suck mah balls.
