Jack Thompson has been at it again, a while ago he sent his under-aged son out to purchase BioShock and he is now reporting that his son has also managed to buy a copy of the Halo 3 game from a South Florida retailer despite him being just 15 years old.


In the wake of yesterday’s server-crashing, mind-numbing revelation by GamePolitics that the anti-game attorney sent gay porn pics to a federal judge we could use a couple of Jack-less days.

Alas, it’s not to be. The activist, who sometimes refers to himself as the “Energizer Bunny” of the game violence debate, is at it again.

In a press release issued late yesterday, Thompson claims that his 15-year-old son has once again purchased an M-rated (17 and older) game at a South Florida retailer.

You are an Idiot! if you go to the ESRB website under enforcement you will be able to read that the ESRB rating is only a recommendation and there is no legal requirment for stores to only sell those games to people at or above the age identified on the rating. It also says that retail store compliance is voluntary and there is no law preventing sales to those under the stated age! SO IT IS PERFECTLY LEGAL FOR STORES TO SELL "M" RATED GAMES TO A 15 OR 5 YEAR OLD!!!

I thought so! In the United Kingdom it works like that but there has always been a certificate rating for Movies

Because in the UK, if its the PEGI rating (the EU equilivent of ESRB), pretty much anybody can pick it up but if it is a BBFC rating (which is used on DVDs,Blu Ray, HD-DVD or any film content, then age verification is required if you appear under the age.

So Jack Thompson is once again a bad lawyer or attorney whatever they call them in the U.S and needs to do some research.
