Microsoft announced today it had sold over 50,000 copies of Halo 3 in the first 24 hours of sales, making it the biggest Australian entertainment launch of all time.
The long-awaited third instalment of the hit Xbox 360 video game series earned $6 million for Microsoft in Australia alone, smashing the previous first-day sales record held by the third film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

To the guy who yesterday said MS doesn't have a huge hype effort going on with Halo3: This also counts as hype.

Then why is the Society of Master Chief Impersonators (SOMCI?) sending delegations to meet with various leaders of the business and political worlds? Enjoying the game is part of it, I think another part is enjoying the notion that you're part of a momentous worldwide "event".
Kind of like if you go to some huge charitable U2 concert.. sure, the concert is good, I'm sure.. but you are also getting warm fuzzies because you know that your drunken revelry is helping starving kids.

Those aussie chicks sitting with him are hot. I wonder if they are his daughters :)
If you havent heard online, Howard is not going to be prime minister much longer. Rupert Murdoch a Liberal Party supporter is already starting a media campaign to get him to resign so that someone else in the party can take his place for the election.
Otherwise it looks like Labor is going to win.
Also to clarify for fellow Americans. Liberal Party = right wing, conservative. Labor party = Liberal, Progressive. The term liberalism was hijacked by the New Deal advocates during FDR in America. Thus when we hear the word liberalism, we are mainly referring to New Deal liberalism with emphasis on Keynesian economics.
