Microsoft has confirmed that the huge surge in traffic on Xbox Live following the launch of Halo 3 did cause some issues for the network but have since been resolved. The respective spokesperson took the opportunity to reassure all gamers that Xbox Live and Xbox.com are working fine as usual.

A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed, rather vaguely, that there had been some issues, all of which have now been resolved.

“Xbox Live and Xbox.com experienced minor issues [Tuesday] as a result of increased activity due to the launch of Halo 3. The issues were quickly resolved and both Xbox Live and Xbox.com are now working fine.”

good job. can't blame them. more than half a million people logged in on xblive just for halo 3 alone.
remember people, always go for top quality support over free mediocre service.

They should have anticipated this traffic surge and should have been better prepared. They knew that this game was going to fly off the shelves. It pisses me off when I lose time off of Live since I'm paying for it. They don't compensate for sh1t such as sending the console in for service or Live going down. That's not a good business practice if you ask me.
