View Full Version : Gamer challenged to play Halo 3 for 72 hours straight to win 360 & Halo 3
A gamer has accepted the challenge of playing Halo 3 for 72 hours straight without taking a break for longer than 10 minutes in order to win an Xbox 360 and Halo 3. The site who are running the 'internet reality' contest will soon be holding a public vote as to how they can make things more interesting such as everytime his game character dies he needs to do 10 push-ups. Would you let yourself be abused in this manner to get your hands on Halo 3 and an Xbox 360? The guy surely is better off going to work for three days...
By now, many of you have been playing Halo 3 for several hours. If you're on my friends list, chances are I've already beaten you. But there's one gamer I haven't yet beaten, and who hasn't had a shot at Bungie's latest hit: Aleksandar Crnogorac. That will change October 5, though, when Aleksandar takes his chances on a new Internet reality tv website (is that even a term?), WouldYou72.com.
The site puts fans of various things (at this point only a Halo episode is planned) in situations where they have to compete some sort of 72-hour-Iron Man challenge to win a prize. For Aleksandar, the challenge is simple: play Halo 3 for 72 hours straight, without taking a break for more than 5-10 minutes. If he completes the challenge? Well, in that case Aleksandar is the proud owner of a new Xbox 360 and Halo 3.
To make things interesting, the site's operators will open the contest to votes as to what Aleksandar should do, and what kind of stipulations are placed upon challenges. (For example, one that he'll face will be that in a 10 minute timeframe, every time he dies he needs to do 10 push-ups.)

Wow, how's that guy gonna enjoy a new 360 and H3 if he's taking a dirt nap... IDK, this "contest" sounds kind of bs-ey, especially since people have died doing similar things. Could be legit tho, maybe if they have a dr. on hand or something.

So whos going to be the person to die of a heart attack in this 3 day Halofest?
I'd rather work for 3 days than play Halo 3 for 72 hours.
What's he going to do with the bundle anyway, after playing Halo3 that long he's got to be tired of the game.

To make things more interesting, everytime his character dies he should have to drink a litre of water. :p

After playing ANY game 72 hours straight I would start to DESPISE videogames.
Such a marathon only to get a game which he just played for 72 hours straight, God...
Overdose is an overdose.
On the other hand, there are WoW and EVE players, so...

There is no dignity in this :(
Neither from people supporting it, nor people calling others "xbots"
well...
Its just a game you dont need to say "OMFG XBOX RUL3Z!!!"
or "XBOTZ FAILZ MUV TO PS3"...
But I bet that if he dies...
I would be a hard time for Microsoft since a death because of a contest
has happened before and they didnt warned consecuences of such thing...

Yeah the difference is the Chinese guy weighed in at a whole 97 pounds. While this guy is probably a 250 pond fat American slob. :)
Yea I don't understand it either, I'm 21 now and I can't seem to sit through more than 1.5-2hrs of a single game without getting antsy. I remember when I was in 8th grade (I was 13 or so), I used to skip school just so I can play Unreal Tournament. I went on an 8 Hour UT binge and I thought that was kind of psychotic.....I was like "Damn I have NO LIFE!"
Now a days 2 hours and I reach my maximum...... there is just so much stuff in the world to do..... that gaming for such a long period of time does not interest me.
21 huh??? Then why the hell do you act like a 10 year old here??? ...
You must still say "Damn I have NO LIFE!" everytime you post here just to grief others with your gay l33t speak and xbawtz crap.
Go find a life then cause you still don't have one ... get a girl/boy friend (whatever tickles your fancy) get out and get some fresh air ... DO SOMETHING other than spend your life here.
Here I'll try it in a way you might understand better ...

People who have repaired 360s keep them on 24/7 test loops and they've worked for months. But then again a new store bought one might not make it 72 hours lol.
