An Arstechnica insider mole has sent them another tip that from October 9th the Xbox 360 PRO SKU will come with Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance as pack-ins. This will be similar to the famous Sega GT/Jet Grind Radio Xbox 1 set but each game will come on their own DVD. Moreover, the Elite will get the same package and a new core SKU will hit that includes a HDMI, wireless controller and more for just $279.99.

Our mole has sent us another communication, deep from the depths of the deep depths from whence he operates. The first thing he shares is that he's still convinced that the $400 PS3 is coming soon, so we'll be keeping an eye out on that. The rest of this information he gave us seems to be set in stone, along with dates, so it will be easy to verify after Microsoft makes its official announcements. What can we expect from the Xbox 360 at retail in the coming weeks?

October 9: The Xbox 360 Pro package will come with Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance as pack-ins. The games will be in one case, similar to the Sega GT 2002/Jet Grind Radio Future combo disc that was packed-in with the original Xbox for a time, but in this case each game will come on its own DVD.

October 23: The Elite will get the same package. No price drops on either system, you just get two free games with it.

New Xbox Core Sku "at the end of October" that will include a new version of the system with an HDMI port, wireless controller, 256MB memory card, and five arcade games on a physical disc. The games will be Boom-Boom Rocket, Pac-man, Uno, Feeding Frenzy, and Luxor 2. This package is expected to retail for the normal Core price of $279.99.

With the inclusion of hdmi on all 360 models its just hard drive size and colour is the difference in the elite and premium and the core has wired pads instead of wireless and no hard drive.

The above mentioned pack does make you wonder why anybody would buy the elite with the value you get and it even makes the premium 360 start to look bad value unless you are desperate for a hard drive with it.

Is the HDMI + additional Heatsinks thing the whole "Falcon" plan they had going a few months back?

I may still pick one up this holiday season, but now I am beginning to doubt they are actually fixing it as I thought they were.

Why do they still manufacture the CORE system. What a waste of money. IMHO.

The Core would be useful if you want a xbox in your bedroom and the living room, then you can just transfer your Hard Drive back and forth. But as a first time buy. It's best just to get one with a hard drive. The memory cards are a waste, unless you transfer a lot to your buddies hard drive.

Again, that is just my perspective of the CORE package.
