View Full Version : MS: Small Fraction of Halo 3 limited editions affected by disc scratch
Microsoft spokesperson David Dennis has commented that MS has identified that there are some instances of scratches on disc as a result of the Halo 3 LE packaging. Dennis went on to say that it is just a small fraction of the total amount of Halo 3 copies shipped and is only in present in the limited edition version of the game.

"We have identified that there are some instances of blemishes on discs as a result of the packaging," said Microsoft spokesman David Dennis in an e-mailed statement. "This is a small fraction of the total number of Halo 3 games shipped and sold, and is a limited production version of the game."

Way to make mistakes. With the premium edition, no less.
Oh crap I forgot to look at the John Harvard statue today. I thought that picture of the Master Chief helmet on it was photoshop, but apparently not.

Like the "small fraction" of 360's that die before their time?
I just got back form my shift at GAME and I sold like 100 special editions today and id say 80% of them were rattleing around in the case. We got an email half way through the morning to confirm the problem and to tell customers effected that they could downgrade to the ordinary Halo 3 with refund but to push for them to "try it and see" so that we could keep the sales up for the first day.

Our store, I work for walmart, had to send back half a case for scratched disks!
And another store, in the same district, only had 2 non scratched disks in their entire shipment!

I like all games so I'm no fanboy, but god damn M$!!!?!?!?! Is there anything you can't mess up? I'm just glad we don't have to listen to them deny the problem for 3 months like all the other problems.

my thoughts exactly as soon as i read the news, although actualy i guess i'm lucky in that my (near) launch 360 is still working at least i think it is, i havent used it for a while and when i do its only in short bursts to prevent the rrod, luckily i have 2 reliable next gen consoles as well so its not that important, i'll let mine die when m$ launch a working version of the 360 then i can get it exchanged, by then most of the games i fancy should be out on budget ;)

M$ loves their "small fraction" bullsh1t until someone finally gives them a real world tally then they cry about how great their service is.
How long must this crappy company remain in the game industry?

Headline: "Small Fraction of Halo 3 limited editions affected by disc scratch"
Actual problem: "Most copies of the ltd edition are scratched - ltd edition are a small fraction of total overall sales"
Like they could afford an extra couple of cents per box to get a decent disk holder. Cheap b*stards.

generally i would agree, if it weren't for my rrod system and the wireless headset 1-800-xbox had me replace to no effect even though it was the controller all along , which i told them, but they didnt give a ****. i replaced the headset 3 times, even after they could have replaced the mic cheaper then all those RMA's, fukin noobs but $ony is no better. even with all the bullshit there is more gaming to be had on a broken 360 then a perfect PS3.
