Gaylo hahaha you idiot. The game is over hyped but the online community is what makes it fun. Yes, Bioshock is great but doesn't have the online play. So, how's that 600.00 door stop working out for you?

the only hype I see is users hyping up games. its users hyping up halo not ms (look at how many ps3 games are already hyped up:o and no onne has played them)

This game has been hype at its worst with constant little streams of mainly pointless information and videos from both bungie and microsoft. I was half expecting to know what the bungie staff have for breakfast and wipe their backsides with there was so much unworthy information floating about it.

Its one thing creating a buzz that gets users talking about it, but the sort of over hyped small snippets of information relivant or not is actually a big reason for anybody not to be interested in whats being hyped.

Made worse by the contradicting reviews that give perfect scores and pick flaws still. And all these server and disc issues it just points out what a farce this has all become.

However the door stop thing is true. My PS3 right now is collecting dust so bad that when Haze or any worth while title comes out I will have to reference a newb guide in the forums on how to dust it off.

As for the hype thing. Yeah, Halo3 is all over the front page of this site and digg gaming section. Just don't care for the hype much. I know that when I do pick it up I won't have insanely high expectations as some people may have. I do expect for it to be well developed, but game of the year, not giving a nomination until played.

How Is Madden overhyped, I NEVER hear any hype about it, I hear some Hype, but not nearly enough to get it 2nd place, Yes alot of people play it, but has hardly any hype behind it.

last year madden was 1 of the top selling games. Madden is always considered hyped because they dont add much.
Halo 3 is hyped but it is what it is and thats a new halo game. Its like final fantasy 11 online... no one cared as long as its a new final fantasy.

People are still playing halo 2 and how long has it been now. Thats not hype thats fun. I mean we got gears of war if we want some super textures to make it look jaw dropping. We got bioshock if we want a jaw dropping sp game. Halo 3 is what it is and many people will be playing it for years to come. Does it look better than bioshock? no will people be playing it still when bioshock 2 comes out? yes!
Replay value is part of what halo does so good, its that replay value that will have people playing it for years long after the jaw dropping super texture games have faded away.

At least they compilied a pretty good list ;). Even if they made Halo 3 with some futuristic virtual ingame technology it still wouldn't have made up for the hype. Don't worry though as long as they have a game like Pac-man on there, you know its a quality list.

What is pac-man doing on the list? A games that will still be playable till the end of time, is not over hyped in my opinion. The rest will just fade away like they always do.

Mine's working great. Best door stop I ever bought. I must have spent at least 20 hours last week gaming on it. That might not sound like a lot, but I'm pretty short on time. That time was really squeezed into my schedule. Also, it can REALLY stop a door dead in its tracks, let me tell you.

Every game (or thing) that is hyped like it will be the second coming of christ CAN'T live up to that hype. That includes Halo 3.

Got mine today. So sad how bad halo 3 really is. The graphics are really good look at these pre-rendered screenshots they are real time honest. :rolleyes:
I can pick out some good and have not tried online yet but so far i'd rather tongue a cow that has anthrax.
Overhyped for sure, 5/10 for offline.

Its actually pretty good, been playing on it so much recently with Warhawk which is an amazing game, i would rather have that then Halo. To tell you the truth i have been playing on my PC and PS3 more than i have my 360 recently.
