Microsoft admits Halo 3 Limited Edition Game Disc scratch problem - offers free replacements

Microsoft has admitted that the Halo 3 Limited Edition Game Disc suffers from case scratching problems and has offered to replace the discs free of charge under its disc replacement replacement scheme which they usually charge for. The program will cover the Halo 3 LE game disc essentials disc at no charge until the end of the year.

THIS PROGRAM IS GOOD ONLY FOR XBOX 360 CONSOLE OWNERS IN COUNTRIES WHERE XBOX 360 IS SOLD AT AUTHORIZED RETAIL LOCATIONS.

That's great that it's no-charge - but don't you have to send in your game disc?

I just opened mine - and scratched. Taking it back to the store later and shaking them ALL till one doesn't rattle.

Is there anything different on the game disc for LE? If not I'll probably just buy basic.

Its interesting that when M$ do something wrong, although they are evil and want total world domination, hey! they still do whatever they can to fix it! I rly dont care how the game was made or who did it, I just want 4 way co-op, killer multiplayer and that franchise TO END! With Halo finished Bungie will definetly make other original IP... they better... I rly dont want a Halo 4...

Microsoft will never give up, they want japan, they want the ps3's whole audience, they want the pc gaming market (to have a reason to sell vista) and they want to make up for losses on xbox 1. The machine cannot be stopped and with all these crimson skies 2 rumors who would want it to :D

To which the Replacement Disc will be scratched also. And in the unlikely event that it is not scratched, the 360 dvd drive will scratch it for you.

Either way, that bad boy is getting scratched.

Not only did I pick up a collectors edition (UK) with not one but two scratched discs, but the case looked like it had been thrown from the top of a large building. MASSIVE dent in the bottom right corner.

After queing up at midnight, I was mighty p*ssed not to be able to play the damn thing. When it goes back, the store will be opening up a new copy in front of me to check or they can give me my money back!!!

Doesn't anybody in stores check their merchandise before handing it over??

The movie canned, the Halo RTS is more like vaporware since I have heard anything about that in a long while. Halo 4? I hope thats for 2010. Hmmm anything more? The Game Fuel? Well taste like goat piss... hmmm...
