View Full Version : More than enough Halo 3's in retail channel for one third of global Xbox 360 owners
Goldman Sachs have predicted that Microsoft will have shipped over 4 million units of Halo 3 into the retail channel by the end of the month, these shipments will be big enough to cover a third of Xbox 360 owners worldwide (11.6 million Xbox 360 owners).
Halo 3 launches this week, and it doesn't take a financial analyst to tell you it's going to be big. However, a financial analyst could be helpful if you want to know exactly how big the game's launch will be.
In a company update on Microsoft today, Goldman Sachs analysts Sarah Friar and Frederick Grieb predicted that Microsoft will have shipped a mighty 4.2 million copies of Halo 3 into the retail channel by the end of the month. That's a big-enough launch shipment for more than a third of the Xbox 360's 11.6 million global user base to pick up a copy.

Ditto for the updates on Anna Nicoles "little angel", OJ News, yet another report on the attempt to make Sky Taxi's a profitable business, A report of the 400 richest people in the world and a report on ultimate fighting...yet they all made ABC news tonight. They mentioned halo for about 15 seconds and showed a shot of geeks lining up for it already...but the did that for the Wii, Tickle Me Elmo and the PS3 as well so no surprise there.

whats the difference they do it when a new soda formula hits the market or a blockbuster film opens (spiderman 3 was all over the news the week it opened) or a new book (Harry Potter), if anything its kinda nice to see any game being given mainstream "importance" it means the hobby that was looked down on when I was a kid is finally becoming socially acceptable.

Yeah and Halo is the most popular franchises ever made! Univeraly known to one of the best overall games ever made! Every review site agrees Halo is the ****. Its campaign may not hold up against a game like Bioshock but it's the most complete package out there with insane multiplayer, gameplay mechanics, and unrivaled music...... Stop being a fanboy and play the game.
