Microsoft has confirmed that this week three XBLA titles go on sale. Frogger will drop from 400 to 300 points, Bankshot Billiards 2 will go from 1,200 to 900 points and Hardwood Spades will also receive a 100 point price drop down to 300 points.

If you're desperate to download Frogger but just don't have the dough to make it happen, Microsoft has good news - the hoppy arcade classic and two other Xbox Live Arcade titles will go on sale this week.

Frogger, Bankshot Billiards 2 and Hardwood Spades will drop in price beginning at 5 p.m. PDT Thursday and remain on sale through 4:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Frogger will drop from 400 to 300 Microsoft Points, Bankshot Billiards 2 will go from 1,200 to 900 points and Hardwood Spades will drop from 400 to 300 points.

Bankshot Billards 2 was 1200 points? And now 900?

This is ridiculous. Even with a drop of 100 points, there are MANY better games on Live to spend your cash on.

Owwweeeeee!!! wow.. Frogger... damn what a deal! lol

What a price drop.. damn! Im gonna go on a shopping spree. LOL

what a joke. Doesn't MS realize that all these old school ports sux balls, not mention the fact you can get all these ported games free online.

Seriously need to stop with the Atari ports, I can't imagine anyone wanting to play them, let alone BUY them.. lol

The only reason I got bankshot billiards was because it was FREE with an xbox live starter kit I bought over a year ago. It is actually a great game. Physics are spot on, controls and interface is easy to understand, and the graphics are pretty good. Can make an ideal beer drinking game for when you have a few friends over. 3 player cut-throat was a pretty fun mode in it. Only 2 gripes were the 1200 point price tag, (but 900 sounds reasonable) and the achievements are next to impossible to get.

more games need to be dropped after being available almost a year, honestly, you've already saturated the morons who wanna overpay for easily emulated rom games. Same should go for the original content games. Just like sunday sales motivate morons, so can price drops on XBLA games.

The problem with Live Arcade, is that many games are way overpriced for what they are. Microsoft should know that since the 360 is out since some time already, some full games can be bought brand new for a practically nothing. I recently bought Ridge Racer 6 for 18 bucks, brand new, and Perfect Dark Zero, brand new too, for 19 bucks.

And then you go on Live and see emulated games from yesterday selling for 12 bucks... (in Canada).

Those emulated games should go for 200 points or less. The only one I found worthwhile so far (at 800 points) were Castlevania : Symphony of the night, and Super Puzzle Fighter II turbo.

Others should be less than that.
