Halo 3 is just a few short days away from its official release and to celebrate the event, a Halo 3 themed racer hit the Dover Speedway and took on other cars including a Wii themed one. But tragedy struck the vehicle, after 306 laps the car blew its engine and was forced to retire. The Wii themed car finished up in fourth place.

6 blown engines in a year......Cursed by M$ and the red rings of death? Or bad choice in drivers?

I say bad driving on this one......unless M$ manufactured his engines in which case it makes perfect sense for them to fail.

Alas, M$ has dodged the bullet though. TIME FOR A NEW DRIVER!!

Wow, and they didn't change drivers after 2-3 in a year? And I thought people who use the word xbot were stupid...

Actually the Wii car finished last, it was spanked by its own mother after she told it to go home and get some sleep so it could start middle school on monday.

unless the driver misses a shift or gets loose and spins the engine backwards for a short time (usually not fatal), i don't think you can blame it to driver error. of course david stremme isn't a major contender and didn't make the chase this year.

Due to engine development concerns, the Playstation 3 car will be delayed by 3 weeks.

Anyways NASCAR is stupid. Watching 40 cars do 200 laps for 8 hours?! Meeeeeh!!! I should rather see that lawnmower race...

Still is funny that M$ card red ringed. LOL poor M$ must have a curse or something.

The X360 car is good overall but has to make a pitstop for repairs every 3 or so rounds.
The PS3 is big with a super powerfull engine, but it forces the driver to use an unresponsive control method on some courses and not many courses work with it yet.
The Wii car has a smaller engine but is small and agile and uses a revolutionary new control method that allows it to more than keep up. Also it mostly drives on compleetly different tracks than the toher two.

lmao the RROD joke with the car made me laugh it was funny. but jokes aside, seriously its a race car, im sure most race cars have blown engines on the regular. instead of just looking at the 1 car MS sponsored how about they compare the blown engine rate to other cars and see how it fairs. i bet it wont be the worst out there..

Usually crews replace a driver after that many blown engines. If the driver doesn't get the shaft, someone on the pit team does, perhaps even multiple people. Blown engines in Nascar come from shoddy mechanical work or drivers who can't pay attention to the tachometer and constantly over-rev. The engines are bullet-proofed, but not invincible.

Btw, I checked on that blown engine rate and the Microsoft car is the only car on the circuit that has had 6 blown engines this season. Apparently, to better promote the car, M$ decided to put actual 360 components in the motor. For some reason or another, the engines keep overheating and then eventually exploding.:D
