I live in Canada, so I would preferably buy within Canada unless it's cheaper from the States.

Now, I've been reading about models D2B, D2C, etc... if i get the latest D2C or maybe even a D2D (if there is a newer one) then I won't be able to chip it? I am going to be buying one in about 2 weeks, and I'm going to order the chip now so it's all ready to go when I get the system.

I have a Pioneer 111D w/hacked buffalo firmware to allow it to burn -RAM and have better compatibility. I'm using Verbatim 8x DVD-R's, what is a recommended brand of DVD-R's? I read something.. somewhere, they recommended DVD+R's ??

For a chip, I was looking at the Wiikey, but there is also the Cyclowiz2 which you can disable if you want. Would there be any reason that I would want to disable the chip? To play Original games (boughten)? To use the Wii online? Will something fry my Wii if the chip is enabled and I do something like go online. Can I download roms for the Virtual Console myself using a chip?

Now I think that's all the questions.. for now, haha. Thanks in advance guys :)

buy one that's premodded that would be easiest :)
with wiikey or cyclowiz

so far there is no real reason that you would want to disable your chip.
ONLY thing any chip can do is enable you to play burned wii games and gamecube games.. and burned gamecube homebrew. Nothing else. No wii hacks exist, so virtual console games HAVE to be bought.

I modded my Wii last month and got a Wiinja Deluxe. It my mind it's the best buy. They have had good support, you can turn them off via the power/reset button and have all the other features every other chip has.

if your not buying a premodded Wii then buy the console first, find out the chipset make sure you can mod it first before you waste time on deciding.
