Hello

I fited a wiikey clone to the wii. It didn't work probably because of the d2b chip which have 3 legs less. I tried to cut down on the chip in order to solder cables. After this, the wii didn't read any dvd. It makes some noise then I put the dvd on, and it stops turning. You can see this at this link:

Thank you for your help (and I'm sorry for all the english mistakes I did, I'm french...)

Difficult to tell from your images but:

1) if you went too far into the D2B chip, you're pooped basically
2) I see a lot of solder basically everywhere
3) Gotta use basically in one more line ... ummm, why on earth is there a solder blob next to that capacitor?

Fixes: clean off ALL exessive soldering tin (use litze!) use decent iron. From the images I gather that you're using either a too hot iron (just enough to melt a bit of soldering tin on your desk is enough) or one with a too big tip.

When putting back together the Wii, only attach the four DVD drive screws very very loosely. The drive absolutely hates if you do those screws tight.

I'd like to see a more close up picture, perhaps at a 45 deg angle, on the grinding and leg work, current pics unclear.

definitely clean that work area up. i can see a lot of track bridging, excess solder, and blobs of death :p

i say you remove everything, including those "re-built" IC legs cos im sure theres bridging on those also. and start again with a clean work area

Hello,
first, thanks for your answers.
bur i don't understand: o friend of mine did this work (he did this before with ps2...), and the problem appeared not after the soldreing but after the cutting down on the d2b.
is the d2b out of order?
