Has anyone tried this before? I already got Swap Magic so I'm going to get it. Is it any good?

man don't get that ****! It's a one way ticket to a continuesly reinstallation of those small metal shards hell! They get loose very easely and if you just open your console and glue those switches tight close you have the same effect at no cost and no hustle in the future.

Is there anyway to make it stick down? I already got Swap Magic so this would be perfect to get. How about tape?

Hmm you could use tape. But I gues it would get loose very easily. The best way is to short wire those switches... I used superglue to glue small square strips of tie-rapon top of those switches. Just press them firmly for a minute and you'll never be able to get those of... The downside is you still have to open your console, wich will void your warrenty.

I used a small square for duct tape. Electrical tape sucks, once it gets warm it comes off.

Is it true that after installing the magic keys you can't shut the lid?
Also, can you remove all the tools if you have to? The 2 that don't go 'inside' the PS2 look like they come out, but does the one that goes underneath near the lens come out? Just wondering in case I want to sell it on, but I can't with the tools in :|

No. You can still cose the lid, although it will feel a little different (the tension of the spring is a lot more than normally so you have to push a little harder). You can remove all the magic keys. Also the one in the back of your ps2. The thing is: you put a very small piece of metal through a hole in your tray interior and hope it will push the switch. Most of the times, it doesn't so you have to 'pirk' around a little bit. When you finally have the key in a position were it pushes the switch it won't take long before it will slip of the switch and you have to position the key all over again! This really sucks.
For me the key stayed in place for one day. The next morning I had to position it again. Don't do it. There are better options.

I can't get key #3 to stay in place and am ready to open my v15. Are there any hints or tips that anyone can provide for opening the case (77001)?

Well, It shouldn't be so hard. Really it's quite simple actually.. But I also heard a good tip from a friend of mine who also couldn't get his 3'rd key to stay in place: he installed the keys and wiggled the 3rd key until it pushed the switch, then he put a few drops of thin plactic glue in the whole (the glue will slide down the small iron ball from the 3rd key and onto the switch! When he removed his 3rd key the next day the switch had been glued close.
Although I never done it, it sounds like a good idear (just keep in mind not to apply to much glue)
