SvSIP has been released, this is a homebrew piece of VoIP software for use with the DS and uses three functions of the DS in the form of the Microphone, sound and WiFi. In order to use this, you wil be required to have a SIP account but it has been confirmed working.

if you have the ability to use homebrew on your NDS and you have an voip account with sip then you can use your ds to make voip phonecalls using its built in wifi and any wifi hotspot.

voip simply means voice over internet protocol and is a way of making calls using the internet instead of a fixed phone line or cell phone.

basicly cheap or free phone calls worldwide.

I do not fully understand how to use this. I can not even find anyplace to even create a damn Sip account. I am guessing I am suppose to basicly refill in the information needed in the config text file for when I login with the username and such. I still don't totaly get this thing. But I would really like to understand this app and get it down because I have been wanting a voip feature with the ds for some time now. I am very lost =s Though for a config file I think it to looks a little funky

# This is a comment in the config file.

# Set the URL of local ID (used in From header) (e.g.: sip:username@example.com)
--id sip:username@example.com

# Set the URL of registrar server (e.g.: sip:example.com)
--registrar sip:example.com

--domain example.com

# Set realm (note: wildcard is now accepted) (e.g.: example.com)
--realm example.com

# Set authentication username
--username username

# Set authentication password
--password pwd

# Mandatory (for the moment) override the Contact information
# (e.g.: <sip:username@local_ip:5060;transport=UDP>)
--contact <sip:username@ip_local:5060;transport=UDP>

# Optional registration interval (default 55) (for freephonie set 1800)
--reg-timeout 1800

It is also saying I will have to patch the .nds file for my m3 adapter sd. Yes the big slot 2 device. But I am not even sure where to find a patcher. I have the files needed, but no patcher. @_@

I have a sip account with gizmo project and have set my config like this:

# This is a comment in the config file.

# Set the URL of local ID (used in From header) (e.g.: sip:username@example.com)
--id sip:1747xxxxxxx@proxy01.sipphone.com

# Set the URL of registrar server (e.g.: sip:example.com)
--registrar sip:proxy01.sipphone.com

--domain proxy01.sipphone.com

# Set realm (note: wildcard is now accepted) (e.g.: example.com)
--realm proxy01.sipphone.com

# Set authentication username
--username 1747xxxxxxx

# Set authentication password
--password xxxxxxxx

# Mandatory (for the moment) override the Contact information
# (e.g.: <sip:username@local_ip:5060;transport=UDP>)
--contact <sip:1747xxxxxxx@ip_local:5060;transport=UDP>

# Optional registration interval (default 55) (for freephonie set 1800)
--reg-timeout 55

Can anyone see where I've gone wrong - as far as I can tell it should work. The app boots but doesn't connect calls.

I've made a few accounts at VoIPBuster and got it to work sucessfully... Think it only lasts 10 or so calls before you are cut off though.

Here's a video of what I actually accomplished with this program:

I cant wait! In a week or two I'll have a DS and I'm gonna pick up a cheapo Flash kit and then I will never have to worry about my folks riding me about "Cell phone minutes" (I dont use the phone often at all, but when I do its far more convienient to just use my cell)

Anyway know which Flash kits this is and isn't compaible with?
Games N Music--I know isn't the best one, but its selling for 20 bucks right now in my area, so I am thinking of trying this until I can get a better one.

Anyone know how that will work out?
Which Flash kits do you all suggests?

Your problem is that you have not set your local ip. replace that "...ip_local..."
you left for you computer's IP and problem solved. :)

Games N Music is the WORST flash card you can possibly get at the moment.

Hello everyone, I want to be able to give my friends and colleagues in China a local phone number that will ring my VoIP phone in the US. This is basically the reverse of Yahoo's Phone in service where Yahoo offers US phone numbers to domestic and international callers via VoIP. How do I get a Chinese phone number for my VoIP service? Have a good day.
