First of All try changing media to a better brand ...Re-burn some old games and test...
If this fails the laser could be on the way out..
Or thirdly possible chip failure

I saved all my in fo, gaem saves to a SD card via wii settigns.
the in wii settings you can choose a wii system format.
once this is over, re download from the shop
and reinstal you game saves.
it is worrying that the wii just stops
but i am so glad mine is back

strange, if a format doesnt solve it then recheck all the solder points.

thanks for your reply.
After a little search in forums i came to the conclusion that responsible for this thing is the 3.00 update of wii.
Also In the official site of wiikey they announced a moth ago this:
[07.08.08] Wii firmware 3.0 issues
Nintendo has released firmware 3.0 via online updates. It will NOT brick or disable Wiikey; however, base and config discs will not load 'natively', neither will any other GC disc with El Torito standard header format. WiiNewz have reported that there are already tools available for building bootable config and setup discs, as well as other discs with applications and emulators. We are currently researching why the El Torito format no longer works. Once this is completed new versions of the config and base system disc will be made available.
A solution to that problem some people said that it was by updating the wiikey firmware with the 1.9beta that has released.
I tried doing that and although it read that cd with the firmware with no problem it got me an error during the flashing says: check the connections.
I still cant accept that there is a problem with my wiikey connections cause
it had been working for months like that and everything started one day after
updating to 3.00.
I havent tries the format thing yet cause i wanted first to ask what format does...I dont care about the saves, i just want to know if it downgrades the system and bring it back to it's first firmware when i bought it.
I also want to ask if, after the format works, i believe that sooner or later, by playing new games it will update my system again to 3.00
Thank you very much.
Please people with the same problem verify if the problems started after installing update 3.00 on you wii console.

you can read in the forum what you want, but 3.0 does NOT cause this. even the wiikey crew quote you quoted says this!! the 3.0 update only causes the wiikey setup disc not to run and action replay, any disc without a correct gamecube "header" if you will. There have been custom-fixed wiikey setup discs released since. You can also just run the discs after GCOS.
You say that "the problem" is caused by 3.0. What is "the problem"? People have VERY different issues. Some have DRE's in games, caused by bad media or a malfunctioning chip. Others have unreadable wiikey setup discs or action replay discs, caused by a 3.0 block of non-gamecube and non-wii discs.
The wiikey update fixes gamecube audio streaming. It also improves media support, so if you insist on using crap media then it could work better.
Since the update disc DOES RUN but cannot FIND your wiikey, probably either you have a clone that isn't updatable, a not correctly soldered wiikey, or a broken wiikey. Try the format though, who knows.
Sidenote: Why doesn't everyone read this once and for all: 3.0 DOES NOT cause wii games to stop working suddenly! Nor gamecube games! It will also not suddenly break your modchip!

The problem i have is that it cannot read neither original and not original games.
It even cant read the setup disk of wiikey as you said.
That happened right after the update. It has been working perfectly for several months and the media i use are tayo yuden that have been working perfectly all this time.
My wiikey i believe is original cause i bought it from the wiikey.cn site.
I dont know what else to think.. I will try the format thing and see if it works.
