I have been screwing with my wii for over 3 1/2 weeks. It would only boot on the first try then I would have to let the system sit for about an hour unplugged before I could get it to boot again. I tried 2 wii kits and 1 wii key. nothing worked. burned disc on a plexor 4x model burn and a sony 16x model. Nothing would work. I finally bought a I bought the Pioneer DVR-112D drive and burn a disc. It worked immediately with same dvd's I had been using all along in the other burners (maxell 16x dvd-r). I also have backups that work perfect in my gamecube and will not work in the wii.
SYMPTOMS:
-Only booting games on first boot from the system being in a cold state(have not played in hours, must wait an hour before trying it again to get a successful boot
-Laser clicking when disc starts to spin then stop's
-DRE's in the middle of your game
