I was wondering if anyone knew if this Vast memory card modchip would work with the PSX - the PS2 that only came out in Japan and would only play Japanese games. I was wondering because it has a lot of capabilities like DVD Recording and TV recording onto it's 250GB hard drive. I have been wanting one but wanted a modchip that would work with it. Now that this plug and play is coming out I was wondering if it is compatible.

I seriously doubt it. Vast (if it doesn't turn out to be a hoax.. looking more and more like a hoax every day that it's not out) works by some very tricky voodoo that relies on the way the PS2 is designed. The PSX is essentially a complete redesign (internally) which is why current mod chips and whatnot aren't compatible.

Hi.
I doubt the VAST would work, but a try wouldn't hurt.

I would like that image for Wikipedia use.
