Yesterday I entered my serial number in WiiTracker. It told me that I have a D2B chip without drive legs missing. Today I entered it again it told me that i have a D2C ????!!!! I am sure that I entered it correctly both times.

You should "listen" to your eyes. Open the console and verify for yourself, there's no other way that's 100% correct.

Nintendo hasn't kept the serial numbers consecutive as they've made revisions to the systems... so Wiitracker isn't going to be 100% accurate.

why does it matter if its wrong if your never going to open it. if you are going to mod it why dont you open it then look for yourself.......................................... ..............

It works out what chip you have from the information people enter on another part of the website (once people have opened their wii and confirmed they can add their serial number and chip etc to the list). Someone probably entered a serial number close to yours saying it was a D2C, which would make wii tracker think yours is. open yours up and see for yourself, then update wii tracker :)
