I ran the wii brick blocker on my backup of metroid prime 3, and now it won't load. Aside from the long process of getting another rom,:p can it be changed back? or does anyone know of a workaround so that it won't freeze on a black screen after the main title screen from the wii menu?

You need to run the update on this game othewise the game will not load.

Did you actually read what he wrote? He was asking if there was a way to un(brick blocker) his iso as he had removed the update... probably meaning he KNEW you need the update.

As far as I know there is no way to do it atm, maybe send a message to the creator of Brick Blocker, see if he could make a secondary program.

try a system restore, i think it undoes changes to files aswell but im not sure

I don't believe a system restore is going to change anything with a .iso file... if it did that, system restore points would take up a ridiculous amount of space. As far as un-brickblocking it, I haven't used wii brickblocker but I'd assume it changes a file in the iso. Now, some iso patchers I've used for other purposes have created a backup file of the file it modified in case a revert is necessary. Check the disk and see if theres like a .bak file or something related to a backup on it. Otherwise, you'd have to know exactly what code was changed to reverse it (it's gotta be a specific piece of code which tells it to load the update, otherwise the program wouldn't be able to work on all isos).

Good luck

I knew what he meant. I just tell him that he needs to upadte to play the game. Because I have done the samething to remove the update from the game. Then the game will not load. Other thing he can try update his wii from internet.

why would you need to un brick block when you could just put your original disc in and do the update. You do have an original copy like the rest of us do right:D

Hell, everyone knows it's more 1337 to un-wiibrickblock an iso than to stoop to actually putting the original disk in. And what if that 1 time he put it in, it got a big gash? Definitely not worth the risk.

I put in the original and it works, but either disc will try and do an update. That's why I'm asking if anyone knows of a way to revert or edit the iso image to the original. I really don't want to have to redownload another iso, because it takes several days. I am halfway considering buying an LG drive so I can make my own backups. The only reason I use WiiBrickBlocker is I don't want to risk bricking my Wii on a backup if it can be averted.

We don't support piracy, it doesn't matter if you own the original it is illegal to download a copy. You must make your own backups off the original disc.

Listin are you trying to run the update or not run the update. The original iso will have the update already in it. Just pop in either disc and run the update. Nthign will happin to your wii. That was just ninendo's way of tryign to make modders piss in thier pants. Thousands of us have run the update and nothign has happsneed because mod chips arent illegal!!!

If all you have done is WiiBrickBlock the game and the game now won't play without the latest update, then why can't you just update online to get the latest update? Then the game should work.

Sounds to me like you had a bad ISO to begin with. If your Wii system updates are up to date then the game should play.

You guys don't get it. He would be trying to play Metroid Prime 3. In this game it has a small game specific update. If you brick blocker it it will not work, even if you are up to the latest wii firmware or not... hence he needs to unbrickblock his iso to play it.. or dl it again.

Metroid Prime 3 ntsc OR pAl

I think you are on a Wii PAL Console and you downloaded the NTSC Version of Metroid Prime 3 and used the BrickBlocker to play on your Wii PAL

That would mean that you own the original Metroid Prime 3 PAL Disc and you downloaded the NTSC Version Online Because you Don't have the LG CD_ROM Drive to make a back up of your PAL copy

You do Not own The NTSC Version thats a pirate copy AND IS ILLIGAL Because that is not a back-up of you original PAL disc

SIMPLE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION : NO you can not reverse the Brick Blocker Process

Or Vice versa

I've got an idea that might work.

Get someone to seed a torrent with the already extracted iso. If you're lucky, when you try to help seed it, it may be able to redownload that one piece.

I doubt it would work though.

In the future, back it up.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I feel like an idiot. I put in the original disc, it updated and now the backup works. And yes it is an NTSC-U Wii with a NTSC-U MP3 disc. So if anyone else could possibly have the same issue, just be sure to run the update and then the game should play.:)

And to zerodrool, I use WiiBrickBlocker because I had an issue after the 3.0FW update I wasn't able to load my NTSC-U backup of Big Brain Academy. After hearing about WiiBrickBlocker, I thought I would give it a try and it worked:) So just because I use WiiBrickBlocker, I'm not using PAL backups of my games.
