Well, I haven't been on here in a few months. Mainly because i got my wii all set and it worked without any issues. I have only been on to check when a new update is out or similar events. But now I have noticed some problems:

My wii (D2B Cyclowiz 3.5 with latest wii firmware) has started to throw DRE. Almost all My 'backups' do it. Fresh burns on Memorex DVD+R too. I have never had a problem with them until recently. The first game to do this was Driver, to give an approximate date i would say about the beginning of August/ Late July. It DRE'd At the same point in a mission 3 times in a row, so i attributed it to a scratch. Then, Strikers did it, and Wii sports Backup, and so on. But, now it is at no specific point, just randomly. Most of the time it is 2 min into playing at least.

I have noticed other Wii owners having a similar issue, with other chips. Is this a wii firmware caused problem? is my drive starting to die? Is there something I can Do to fix this?

I barely play my wii, but my 10 y/o sister does a lot, and so does my dad. So Backups are all I really keep around....as in my originals are all garbage (hence my backup of wii sports) So i don't know if this is happening with originals :-/

what's most common is people using bad media :P
1. memorex is crappy. use tdk, verbatim, etc.
2. dvd+r is crappy, use dvd-r at 4x.

My dad was burning Rw's as retrys from games that Dre more than others. Said it was ok, then got worse.

I talked to him and he also said it doesnt DRE at all sometimes, but more often than not DRE's.
